Speaking of Herring and "1 for 3, 2 for 5," I was recently back in my hometown in Florida and took a buddy of mine to WSP. I told him about Shakedown Street and how people would sell beers for "1 for 3, 2 for 5." Sure enough, that was still the gong rate for Sierra Nevadas.
I am kind of surprised that is still the price of beers on the lot. We used to sell "good" beers (ie. Molson & Heineken) for that price on the GD lot back in early 90s. Using the inflation calculator that would be 1 for $5.49 and 2 for $9.14 today. Tradition is good for the customers, but not good for the people swinging beers on the lot.
