She has been through a lot.
70 MPH winds and the stalk broke and we ace bandaged it up.
Had to put tarp on it 10 times in last 2 months due to utility work in the yard.
Slight mold issues after wettest August on record.
Now all the big sun leaves are yellowing with some brown spots.
Seems like she can go a few more weeks but the sun leaves say different.
What is your opinion. She is a big one almost 30 quality big ones

No, not the yellow fan leaves
No, not the yellow fan leaves. The little leaves around the bud are kind of thick and funky. It looks like it wants to become more vegetative at this point.
I harvest when about half of the hairs become colored and crinkled. Ignore the crystals - the THC is there whether it's in crystals or just within the hairs.

Only smells to edge of my yard not bad. we always have an ocean breeze and the smells to my deadhead neighbor.
My wife planted 30 seeds, 28 took, 4 were males, 23 were "auto flower" seeds grew budded and harvested in 65 days. This is the only traditional plant to grow. We are figuring 1-2 lbs. we will keep you posted. This is my wifes first true plant. She is giddy.

Cut it now. Mod and rot won’t lessen in severity from here out.
by your photo of the whole plant and the close up of the bud in the first pic, I am guessing your plant may not be getting maximum sunlight or a partially shaded area?
A few handfuls of bone meal, applied a few weeks earlier in the season will help with the yellowing and spots in the future. Maybe around Labor Day for your latitude.

The general rule in not so
The general rule in not so great conditions: take what you can when you can. Like bss said -- it's not getting any better.
She did a great job. Not sure if your full harvest is 1-2lbs but that plant probably has a couple of oz's - to a qp. If those arms are nice and frosty that strain looks like a keeper.

We have taken a few
We have taken a few undergrowth buds over the last 4 weeks or so and se has gotten 1.5 oz from that and it works very well.
All the leaves she has picked up and pulled off she made butter with it and has made these great lemon cookies. 1 cookie is good 2 cookies and my legs won't move properly.
yes it is a very good strain.
The plant got 70% sunlight in the daytime and with our neighbor taking down a crappy non native carrotwood tree it now gets 90% sunlight in that area. We will be good for next years crop.
Yes my wife has basil and a dozen other herbs in the yard. Also a dozen veggies. In Florida she is planting tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and a few others for our winter crop.
It's nice to grow all year round.

Hey Surf, could you explain this better:
"The little leaves around the bud are kind of thick and funky. "
I've always looked at the hairs and waited unti they were 75% red, but I never noticed differences in the small leaves. So, when they get thicker after the bud is past its prime?
Thank you!

Cannabis is produce. It
Cannabis is produce. It should be harvested at the peak of ripeness, not on the downslope of said peak. Let the flowers themselves tell you when to harvest. Experience/knowledge gained from growing a few of the same varieties repeatedly will help indicate when this time has come.
Many sativa and hybrid pistils will never turn red, nor will the trichomes turn amber. With many of these varieties, cloudy/milky is all you’ll ever get while it’s still on the plant. If you must use trichome color as an indicator, amber heads have already begun degrading, oxidizing, and volatizing. This plant would be past its peak of ripeness.
If it is an indica leaner, harvest when the calyxes are fully swollen and have engulfed and consumed most of the visible pistils.
The plant will tell you when it’s time if you listen carefully. Most plants don’t have a very loud voice.

Rough year here. I had two plants, but we had a shorter summer than usual and fall rains started early so I moved my two plants under a deck. Not enough September sun to really swell and ripen the buds, plus some bud rot this year (maybe 20%). Plus the strain I was growing was known for smaller buds. I got the good parts drying but I suspect it will be a bunch of marble sized nugs that won’t be that strong. Still, plenty of stickiness from trimming down two plants that grow in smallish containers so not a total loss. I will be surprised if I get more than a couple ounces.
