Joe Russo’s Almost Dead Set August California Shows
Joe Russo’s Almost Dead has announced three shows for this coming August, all of which will take place in California. “California, here we come!” read the band’s announcement post on Facebook.
The first of the three shows will occur on Aug. 13 at Harrah’s Resort SoCal Events Center in Valley Center, Calif. The next night, Aug. 14, JRAD will bring their high-octane take on Grateful Dead music to the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. Finally, the band will perform at the Frost Amphitheater in Stanford, Calif. on Aug. 15.
Joe Russo’s Almost Dead have a busy year ahead of them. On Feb. 21, the band will being their now-traditional three-night run at The Capitol Theatre. Later, in March, the band will play two shows at St. Louis’ The Pageant. In April, JRAD will play at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville, which opens its doors this coming March. In May, they’ll also play two nights at the Mardi Gras World Ballroom in New Orleans during the second weekend of Jazz Fest.
Later in the summer, the band will play a special set at the LOCKN’ Festival, during which they’ll be joined by both Phil Lesh and John Mayer.

nice, frost is all GA at $45
nice, frost is all GA at $45 again, as it should be. FWIW sound in the back is TERRIBLE. you dont have to get way up front or right next to the sbd but dont let yourself get stuck towards the back.

agree with daylight on the sound in the back. I made the mistake of being lazy last year and plopping down up top. its pretty up there but the sound sucks and the decibel controls the neighborhood has on the venue means you can hardly hear anything up top
will take the sunburn to avoid that again this summer

there was some strange effect
there was some strange effect going on where the sound would kinda phase in and out...it would be mostly ok for a few sec, then get quiet and fuzzy for a few sec, etc etc...wind related maybe?
none of those issues in the main bowl area up front tho...decent sound, consistent levels, full immersion. could always be better but worked just fine when up front.

It's funny that after all
I had to miss last year's Frost show, hopefully I can make this one.
Sounds like the sound is pretty much the same as back in the olden times.
It's funny that after all these years I'm back to being slightly disappointed that a show is at the Frost instead of the Greek.
The Frost is cool, but for a show like this (or any really rocking show) the Greek is just so much better.
Still, the Frost is nice & so easy for a south bay guy like me.

I agree palladium in summer is weird, but Harrah’s Rincon, or whatever they call it now is pretty rad. Vegas style pool with swim up bar, swim up blackjack, and a huge lazy river, although show is indoors. The event center is supposed to have an awesome state of the art sound system.
