Would love to be hearing some fresh Phil, but this second set preview vid is a pretty good watch. They did a nice job with the horn arrangements on Uncle John's Band (starts around 14:45) and definitely rehearsed a little. Good stuff from Bob.
I liked the stream and the monitors packed with Zoom attendees, although at an apparent 35 second delay, added some "crowd feel" as well. As ever, TRI is an awesome studio with top tier technology!
....the full-screen bong-hitting lady head out there added some nice 'ambiance' too ;)
I enjoyed the clip of BEW and El Paso that I watched. Leisz adds some excellent color and tone with the steel, and Chimenti adds another lead voice and helps open up the songbook. Both give Weir plenty of room to do his thing. Bob looked like he was right at home, which he more or less was. Don Was and Jay Lane were sounding good too, keeping the tempos right there without getting in the way. Haven't got any Donbombs yet.
I'd enjoy paying money to see these guys in a little theater more than Ratdog.
Deadheads probably had a big impression on Joe Strummer. The Clash were being labeled "the only band that matters", which sounded nice, but they didn't have a few thousand fans following them around on tour.

He just played an excellent version of Easy To Slip, a long-time personal Weir favorite of mine.
He sounds really good, especially for such an old road dog.
