Say it Ain't So.

So it has not been announced yet, but Achilles Wheel is calling it quits. Their last show will be NYE. Of course I am going to DNB for NYE. Who knows. It may be their last NYE show. The only other show Achilles Wheel has scheduled is Sunday afternoon at the Green Room in Placerville.  I will be going to the Chapel and then driving to Placerville after the show. I will be staying in a motel on the way. Probably near Sacramento.

I bought an extra if anyone wants to join me.  On me.

Here is a clip from them at June Lake this yr.

Achilles Wheel

From Achilles Wheel band members and crew.

To our many dear and beloved friends and fans. Family, really. It’s easy to smile as we reflect on these last 15 years of good times. The world keeps throwing heartache and despair at all of us, and yet we still find joy and rejuvenation through the act of gathering for song and dance. A band and those who gather at these events are a circle, and we have been blessed to be a part of that and to have shared it with you.

So it is difficult to tell you now that we’ll be taking an indefinite hiatus. We’ll all be working on other projects during this time and will keep you abreast of that. There’s no other way to explain this except to say that it is time for a break. We’ll definitely miss you all during this music festival season. Have a great time. There is so much healing music out there and we wish you all peace and kinship.

At this time we have some unfinished recordings to sort out, and will hopefully share that with you as the new year progresses.

Our last full band show is coming up on New Year’s Eve at the Miners Foundry in Nevada City with our friends and local favorites Rayo. And on February 6-7th we’re hosting a Dylan tribute at the Nevada Theater. This show will feature a bunch of guest artists. Details at paulemerymusic.com.

You can also find the AW Trio on May 9th at a new Kate Wolf Festival in Downieville.

For now, our heartfelt thanks to our fans, family and friends in the Sierra Foothills, and to the many others we’ve met along the way. Be kind to yourselves and each other and we will hope to see you further on up the road.

Thanks.

Posted last night after the show in Placerville. I was there and it was a good show but not there best by any means. I think they were sad and maybe that effected it. I know I was.
