Another Sacky Nomination

Forums:

I got another nomination for a Sacramento Music Award (SAMMIE).
Actually, Mylar's Hippie Hour was nominated in the Creative Achievement in Support of the Music Scene category this year.
Really proud of this one, because it recognizes the shows, which provides a forum for musicians from the so-called "scene" to perform with me. For most of these people, they not only get to stretch their skills, often playing music they've never played before, but they also get paid a little dough. They also get to play with other musicians they might not have played with before. Many of these artists have also been nominated in various categories and some have already won the award. Some of the musicians have gone on to form bands with the musicians they've met at Hippie Hours. I really dig it when that happens.
Anyone can vote for Hippie Hour and others here https://go.newsreview.com/sammies/
The whole SAMMIE thing and "music scene" is and has always been pretty cliquey and I'm an old outsider who has been nominated in the past primarily as a filler. However, I think it's a great resume builder for the young, up-and-comers. Especially, for the career minded artists. The SAMMIES helped some Sacramento people who did pretty well outside of town, like Jackie, Cake, Joe Craven, The Secretions, Oleander, Jeff Watson, and a few others I can't recall just now.
Thanks, if you vote.

Congratulations sir! I look forward to dropping by one day.

^ Hope you can make it, Alan.
