Billy Kirchen & The Lost Planet Airmen

Forums:

Billy Kirchen & The Lost Planet Airmen Reunion played at Hopmonk last night. What a great show from a band with an average age close to 80 LOL. Bobby Black just turned 90 and still has that Western swing. The Commander would be proud!

The only missing airman that's still on the right side of the dirt was Billy C Farlow.

The band: Bill Kirchen, John Tichy, Andy Stein, Buffalo Bill Barlow, Bobby Black, Austin Delone, Pete Seigel & Paul Revelli

No, and I didn't see any tapers but hopefully someone did!

Sounded like a phantastic time.  Thx for post Woz.

Was on my radar but I couldn't pull the trigger. Glad you had a good show.

Bring that shit East!!!!! yes

mark d and i were lucky enough to catch bill and the commander down here. he passed not long after.

Love it!  Bill is fit and still on his game.  Cool to see him reuniting with all the Commander Cody alumni.

He's gone on to a deep and laudable career since; his trio work with Too Much Fun in all of it's groupings, his extensive work with Nick Lowe, and being named Master Of The Telecaster.

One of my favorite musicians and just an all-around good dude.

WOW

So Billy C was there ?

Beat me Daddy with an eight inch bar.

Billy C was the only missing airman. He was home in Alabama....

When I first moved the Bay Area in the mid 80s George Frayne still lived in Stinson and played at least once a month at the last Day Saloon. If you were really in the mood you could always drive out to Stinson on a Friday night and find the Commander sitting at the piano in the Sand Dollar.....

What no "Mama Hated Diesels"?

Heard them in Tampa opening for the Byrds, a fun show.
