Ice Raids In Stand Your Ground States

Forums:

In states that have stand your ground laws, wouldn't people getting rounded up by unidentified people in masks with no warrant be able to invoke stand your ground and be absolved of wrongdoing if they protected themselves by any means?

I knew a guy who got hazed by some fellow marines, thought he was actually being kidnapped, and stabbed two of them.

Actually worked out ok for him

Not so good for the others

Your question assumes the person standing their ground would get to have their day in court here in the US. That's not been the trend lately.

hi mike, you are right. I'm still thinking due process and following the law still work.

In a small situation the only witnesses left alive would be the ice agents.

Bigger crowds and videos are better but that's still assuming due process.

Fuck i feel really ugly right now. I want to go back to not thinking.

AAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

The people being rounded up are the most vulnerable and terrified that we have right now in terms of knowing that at any point they might just be rounded up like the above story says.

They have no recourse

All that said it's a cute notion you know coming from someone who will never have to know what that's like. And I'm one of those people as well which is why I believe that beyond the fact that they wouldn't even try doing it or think of it, they try to live under the radar and be as low-key as possible while doing the work that the whites don't want to do

It's coming from a place of privilege and safety to believe that such a law would work for such downtrodden people

Aw i missed your last post

Sorry if I made you feel worse about yourself

It was more like all of us white folks than hey you
