I was going to ask, thought he would've been dead by now ...  since I remember my grandmother -- who's been gone for over 25 years -- used to watch the show religiously (along with Different Strokes, Little House, and Let's Make a Deal).

Such good shows and T.V. when i was a Kid !

He put a lot of innocent people behind bars for life. Screw that guy.

Dustin Hoffman's gonna be upset.

Rot in hell, Wapner.

True story. In 1987, the firm I was with did telecommunications--phone and fiber optic installation and we bid on a project with GTE for the rewiring and upgrade of the LA county courthouse to bring in fiber and pull in Cat 5 cabling.  This is where they taped the People's Court.  We had to do the work at night because the building had asbestos so they would test levels and if the air was clear, we got there around 1:00 AM and worked until 5:00 AM. I was out on a business trip to our Upland, CA office and joined them for one night--it turned out to be the night we were doing the floor where Judge Wappner's court room was.  So I got to sit in Wappner's desk--in his big chair--behind his bench and there were life-size cardboard cutouts of Rusty the Bailiff, Wappner and the other dude--Leyland and got to pose for pictures with them. My little connection to him.  Then, I hung out for the weekend and caught the boys and the Ventura County Fairgrounds on June 12 and 13th, both shows and it was big fun--Bill Walton was there as the Celtics were in LA for the final game of the series that took place in June 14th.  In the Dark was hot at the time and the scene was starting to change with newbies pouring in but they were great shows and one of the best places to see the boys, right on the beach with palm trees all around.  So, Rusty, Wappner and a double dose of Dead all in the same week!

Cat 5 cabling didn't exist in 1987.

Maybe I was wrong on the Cat 5--perhaps its predecessor version but the rest is spot on

Just to make ender happy edit your post to say 'twisted pair' cabling.      Cool story.

Trump tweeted that he is saddened by his death and looking forward to naming his replacement

Well, glad to know we have telcom talent on this board--as Ender can tell is if Cat 6 is really worth the price difference from Cat 5e on runs over 500 feet :) My buddies phone business is called Twisted Pair

He received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star during WWII...
