Bruce on Broadway?

Forums:

So says The New York Post.

I wonder how many people I know will catch every show of the "eight week run?" Sadly, I know of a couple that probably will.

Probably out of Boredom and NOT For The Money....

will catch every show of the "eight week run?"  <<<

That Would Be Stupid to SEE Every single one..

^

I'm not saying those people aren't "stupid." LOL. If it is an acoustic evening with Springsteen, I will bet that each night will have a unique set list. Last time he went acoustic, he dug up songs that had everyone going, "holy crap."

Ski i am Sure Some will Go to ALL Of Them - If It makes Bruce Happy to do this Then Well I Am Happy for Him !

975 seat theatre, nice!

Getting a ticket to one of these shows would be awesome.

Viva poll on potential ticket prices?  I bet they will be insanely expensive.

Any yes, the whole run will sell out in a NY minute.

Acoustic Bruce? Dig Deep Into The Vault ! #OnBroadway.......................

So, whats that...8 weeks..5 nites a wk...roughly 1000 seats...5/week...40,000 seats?

Itll sell out 8 week run in minutes

I would bet that the tickets won't be anywhere near what passes for a good Broadway ticket (face) these days. 400-750. I'm figuring $ 150 -$200 max.

A Broadway ticket is 400-750? For a show? I'm stunned! What makes something worth that?

^Damn, now we know why he's doing broadway.

$400-$700? A friend of mine gets "rush" tickets for about $30-$50. He goes just about every weekend.

If you don't want to wait for rush tickets, you can still get tickets for much less than $450.

Damned if I know. Excellent tickets for a hit Broadway show became too expensive for me quite awhile ago. One can still see great theater for a lot less if you go see shows that aren't mega-hits and for performances dates/times that aren't in heavy demand. A lot of the blame for ticket prices is that so many tourists to NYC want to see a show and prices go up because of it. If you poke around a bit and aren't locked in to see one particular show, you can get much cheaper tickets.

As I said above, given Springsteen's long time desire to keep his shows within reach of many, I find it unlikely that the tickets will be anywhere near what he could sell them for. To raise the prices to what other artists have been charging, goes against his reputation.

I think it would be Great Fun to see Bruce perform on Broadway in a relatively intimate venue.

Biggest regret is not catching any of Jerry's Lunt-Fontaine shows.

However,  it was simply not possible for me back then.

My sole job was to maintain a 3.8 or better GPA in University so as to get my degree.
Grim as it sounds,  It all worked out.

Thank goodness the Brave Tapirs patched in some nights, and we also have AUD's or whatever.

Nothing. Broadway shows are that expensive because the unions that the stage people belong to have negotiated outrageous deals (a stage guy can make over $200,000 a year) that the shows have no choice but to up the ticket prices.  The unions can close a show down in a minute if they want to, so they get what they demand and the show-going public pays for it.

(a stage guy can make over $200,000 a year)

Actually many of them make a lot more than that. The average full time stage hand on Broadway makes over 400K a year before overtime. Some senior stage hands bring home close to 800K before overtime. Often a head carpenter or electrician brings home more than most of the senior management. Even bartenders bring home in excess of 200K before tips. The unions are quite strong in the New York stage circuit and contracts are such that anyone doing any show there needs to hire union staff.
