>Lead singers that sometimes strum a guitar as a *prop*
In my mind, I've been doing that since I switched from piano about 45 years ago. I'm still learning, though.
bob's playing can actually be really complex and inventive, but in the later years of the gd he got turned way down in the mix. some of the stuff he has been doing recently, i know grates on the nerves of some people here, but i really enjoy it; where he changes the tone of the guitar to sound like psychedelic clanging metal, and plays the chords where they need to be, but at the same time it is this crazy noisy sound...he does not do it as much anymore but did it alot in furthur. i really liked it; playing a chord of noise that fits into the beat of the song...danceable noise.
just the sheer quantity of weir's knob fiddling should disqualify him from this list.

I saw the Rolling Stones in 1978, and Mick played a bit of rhythm Guitar on some tunes. It was "Some Girls" tour and he was definitely plugged - in.
My recollection is that he strummed a Fender of some vintage, not a Strat, maybe a Jaguar.
But who knows, it could have been any Axe in the World.
Mick Jagger can afford to play whatever Guitar he likes.

What about lead singers who
What about lead singers who actually play rhythm guitar, but stop strumming when they sing?
