Just before Prince's death, he was working with Janelle Monáe on her upcoming album. The cut below sounds so much like some of the best work of the purple one that it has earned heavy rotation in my music world. Prince's personal DJ says Prince asked his opinion on the funky keyboard riff a few years ago. When I listened to the cut, it sounds like he could have written the whole damn song. What do you all think?

didn't she pretty much cop to the fact that basically the entire backing track was lifted from the archive with permission before he passed?

E ~ I hadn't read that but
E ~ I hadn't read that but have about the funky synth line. Since he was working with her on the album and it there is so much Purple DNA in the track, where Prince stops and Janelle starts is good fodder for debate.
She is definitely a heavy hitter based on her previous work.
