After that insane performance at Woodstock (I was an usher in 1970, and watched parts of the movie 50 times), Alvin Lee was my first guitar hero before the GD circus rolled into my life. Also a way-underrated songwriter for my money. RIP, Alvin.

Saw Alvin open for the Kinks
Saw Alvin open for the Kinks in 1980 at the Capitol Centre. Night before was the Allman Bros. Met the Kinks and Allmans after the shows at their hotel and in the lot. Allmans invited me on their tour bus for a second.
