Recently started using Edge instead of IE, which was becoming slow and clunky, with some things no longer compatible. One thing it was compatible with was Ad-block
Is there a free ad-block program that will work well for Edge? Tired of all the new-to-me ads.

I mainly use 'Opera' browser, which has ad-block included for free. There's a free pseudo-VPN also. I think they were a European company but China bought them a while back.

So everything you do online is compromised. At least they are getting the best D&C streams.
How does Firefox's private window work, are there ads there as well?

I really don't have a problem
I really don't have a problem with ads on most websites. I'm from the school of "I can ignore ads but probably won't pay to see your site ad free." Somebody has to foot the bill for quality web content. Might as well be the advertisers.
That being said, Edge Mobile has done a deal with Ad Blocker Plus that includes it in the browser. MS is working on a beta for Edge that includes the same. Soon come.
I like MS Edge better than other browsers and MS keeps raising the bar with productivity features that integrate well into my daily workflow and leisure surfing.

You're the same one who told us the feds facial recognition wasn't ready for "primetime". Then the fed used it to instantaneously identify the Annapolis shooter.
So tell us what magic software features does Windows 10 have over MacOS?

Tony, I was with you when ads were simple images. But news sites are now sending 10+MB of crap when you want to read a text news story. It takes 10s of seconds to load.

You are footing the bill:
Visiting the home page of Boston.com every day for a month would cost the equivalent of about $9.50 in data usage just for the ads.
