Alman / Betts Band--A Question For Those In The Know

Forums:

Do they only play ABB covers or original material? Are they any good? They are playing near our weekend house but it's almost $90 a pop

From their website -

They will kick off 2019 with a new Allman Betts Band album and a worldwide tour that will feature new music, songs from their solo projects and classic Allman Brothers and Gregg Allman tunes in honor of the 50th Anniversary of The Allman Brothers Band.

I've never seen Devon but have been seeing Duane Betts for quite a few years now. He's the real deal, his dad taught him well. Seen Berry Jr with Blue Floyd, he's the shit also.  I'm going to see them in a week up here in ct. Only $42 . Very much looking forward to it.

Haven’t heard of berry jr since bloodline. I’m sure he’s grown up a bit. Generational bands? This is incestuous and interesting.

I have seen Honeytribe a couple of times at local festjvals. The band played one of the side stage tents both times. They were ok. I would like to see this band if the price is right.

my sentiment exactly, I realize the venue is small and its a schleep for them, about 85 miles East of NYC but 90 bucks is kind of steep

Check the website brother, you'll find a cheaper venue,  they're playing all over the Northeast.

Relix is doing a free webcast of the band on 3/27.  Check it out and judge for yourself.  But $90?! no way........

yeah but this one is 10 minutes by car from my house, lol

I thought the vocals were the weak link when I saw them.

I thought the music was good when I saw part of their set at peachfest. Small sample but I would see them again if they were around, can't be very expensive ticket

Dickey Betts on Allman Brothers' 50th anniversary and new Allman Betts Band - News - Sarasota Herald-Tribune - Sarasota, FL

Fantastic show in Torrington last night.

A couple Allman Bros songs, a couple Dead songs a few originals,

all played with the proper amount of vim and vigor.

Took a whike for the over 50 crowd to get off their bacon, but once they did the band appreciated it and bumped it up a notch. John played some sweet sweet slide, Duane was Duane, he's been great for years and Devon showed off some tasty licks, just dont expect him to sound like dad. He's his own animal.  Berry was the shit. Drummer and percussionist were right on.

Go see this band.

Webcast from brooklyn bowl was great!  Still not worth $90 a ticket.

I have no idea why some venues are double what I paid.

For a beautiful old 1930's small theater in ct $42 on the floor.

With practically non existent security.

A good ol high time was had by all in attendance.

Not only that, but they only charged $6 for a

16oz Guinness Draft.

Most economical night out in quite a while.
