Bands who no longer exist you would pay BIG $$$ to have the chance to see again

Forums:

Besides the obvious Grateful Dead with Jerry Garcia who would you love to see again?

These would be my top five:

1. NRBQ

2. Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band

3. The Miles Davis Quintet with John Coltrane

4. The Allman Brothers Band

5. Bob Marley & The Wailers

1. El Rayo X

2. The Cardinals

3. The Grateful Dead

Good choices, Timmy.

Of course I put that Grateful Dead disclaimer at the top of the thread, but who can contain your enthusiasm anyway? lol

Fab Four.

It’s too early out here to fully read posts

Completely understandable

1. NRBQ

I saw them a little over a year ago. Did they disband again?

As for the original question...

1. Talking Heads

2. David Bowie

3. Queen

4. Bob Marley & The Wailers

5. The Clash

>>I saw them a little over a year ago. Did they disband again?

You saw The Terry Adams Quartet. Without Joey and Tom (at the very least) I cannot call them NRBQ. I know it's Terry's choice to call his band whatever he wants - but that does not preclude older fans like me from disagreeing with him.

Still great to see Terry doing whatever he does, mind you, but it's too predicable now and one of the best things about the Terry/Joey/Tommy/Big Al NRBQ was their utter and unabashed unpredictability.

Turtle, that picture is hilarious.  Someone somewhere has that hanging in their house apartment.

Although I would consider myself an older fan, I would also say that I am probably a more casual fan than you are. Perhaps it was the outdoor free festival setting I saw them at, but it was as unpredictable as it ever  has been. I had much fun that evening.

Fun is good!

There are more but these are who I'd pay BIG bucks to see

Not sure if its worth big $$$ to see anybody these days for me. I custied up for Roger Waters and that was good, but I always was afraid as I got older the music would begin to fade, and there would be less bands to go see. Rather, it is the other way around and I am not as engaged these days as I used to be. Family and other obligations keep me from paying attention, but also my interest and energy lie in other places, which I am fine with. Having seen just about everything I wanted to for 20 years or more I am glad to be on the other side. Got up and put on a Phish shirt from the Great Went this morning, made me smile and realize I have no regrets about anything. There is and will be great music made for generations to come, and that is best part of all.
