Belew, Levin, Mastelotto & Friends - 8/12/22

I was fortunate enough to catch these guys at Bearsville Theater in Woodstock NY. I'm always wary when a show is advertised '& Friends'. Usually it turns out to be someone who one way or the other detracts from the performance. Either there was no rehearsal or the guy just doesn't fit. This was WAY different. It turned out to be The Stick Men (Tony Levin,Pat Mastelotto, and Markus Reuter) and The Belew Power Trio (Adrian Belew, Julie Slick and new drummer Johnnie Luca). Trey Gunn also sat in. A very similar line-up to The Crimson Projekct from 2012.
These guys came out with guns blazing, and did not disappoint. The quality of the musicianship was beyond reproach, and the audience, myself included, ate it up.

Done from memory, but I think I got it right.
Belew was all smiles, I don't think he's played with Levin on stage for a while. Everyone else was pretty happy too.
Too bad this was a one-off show.

I was there, too, Jerry. Fantastic performance!!! This traditionally has been a once a year thing, after their music camp in Hudson County. But I agree with Seamonster, that with the retirement of King Crimson per Fripp's announcement in Japan, it would be great to see this band out Touring!!!
