Cameo.com

Forums:

Never heard of this until this past weekend.   Thousands of C list celebrities offering to record short, personalized messages for a fee ranging from $25 to $750 depending on the celebrity.  Started to scroll through the musician category and saw a lot of familiar faces, but nobody from the Grateful Dead.

Pretty weird.

Yep, I've heard of it.
A friend hired Allie Kral from Yonder to sing me happy birthday, LOL.

^^^^Saw her scrolling through the musicians.  She is $35 a pop.

Ice Cube was the most expensive at $750.   Alice Cooper was $300 and George Clinton $100.

Id pay to watch some of you spew crazy.

Cheesy but brilliant idea. I would buy stock in this company. I see it getting big.

....isn't that already free for you, Racket?

Or is it the rent-free Zoner-occupancy in your head that you seem to foster so we'll?

Video is so much more.

Word up

I have a couple of family members  who  send these Cameo greetings frequently. They're both  pretty Star struck but also like to support their favorite celebrities and brighten the day of a loved one. My Mom gets a kick out of the Cameo greeting she receives on special occasions.  I'm surprised that the novelty hasn't worn off yet.

Read about it. Al Franken would be cool for a twenty spot for someone I know that I would anonymously  like to bug a little.

Gilbert Gottfried would be a good one

Ted Nugent not so much

Mickey Dolenz for my mother

Bootsy a bargain at $75

...so is Kenny Jones at $80

Yngwie Malmsteen is $500 - that doesn't surprise me (for an additional $100, he will be extra-pompous)

Last year I got Spike, from Buffy, to send my daughters a message. He gave almost 4 minutes, and their combined reactions were well worth the $90. Then, after last football season I got Wayne Chrebet to send a message to my son and buddy who are Jets fans. Again, well worth the $100. It's a fun little thing to do.

Can't imagine either giving or getting one.

Tommy Chong $150

In the early days a Covid when we were all under lock and key I did a zoom Bday for my wife and had a Cameo done by Susie Essman from Curb, basically doing her character.  She was so funny and went of on the Covid lock down.

What I don't understand is why Johnny Damon needs a $150. I mean some of them I get but there are a lot people on that list who are super rich, don't have to work, and said to themselves I would like to spend my time recording messages for strangers. Is it the need to be relevant? I've always understood wanting to be rich, but never got wanting to be famous.

I've done hospitality for clients at football games in the luxury boxes, and part of the deal is the old retired players come by and offer to sign stuff for money. I always felt it was so sad and cringy but both the players and the people shelling out for signatures seem to enjoy it so i guess it's just me.

Golden Globe-winner Ruth Buzzi -- TVs #1 show “Laugh-In” for 6 seasons, "Screech's Mom" on Saved by the Bell;

Sounds like a steal @ $500.00 for a video call.

Review...Ruth Buzzi is a comedy legend and a national treasure. Her very sweet, uproarious video message was exactly what my dad and sister will need to hear.

high pitch erik is a real life millionaire from it

so, yea

I'm sure Covid has something to do with some people doing it. Their regular paycheck ain't coming in no more. Ziggy Marley is $499 but all the money goes to his charity to help poor kids in Jamaica.

Maybe Rockstar Richard should have one. LOL

lol, this is weird.

mr. t kinda spendy

Long past time for a "family meeting" to sit Greg down and tell him to stop peddling the tiki on his cameos ...

Mickey Dolenz for my mother<

How much?

I'm taking my buddy to see The Q, but this would be an on-the-nose gift.  He's actually attended multiple Monkeefests (or WTF they call 'em).

Mickey Dolenz is $295, a portion goes to charity. No singing or endorsements or one-on-one cameo calls.
