I chose not to go into the whole RSD thing this year and go after the dead's release of warfield material. Im sure it sounds great, but is there any substantive difference between it and the material already released on Dead Set and Reckoning?
I had Dead Set on cassette long before I went to my first show. I really liked GSET as the closer. Too bad the dead never considered it in that position.

Reckoning has 1 song from the new Warfield release?
It looks like youre correct. Jack a Roe is the only "repeat" from the warfield release and reckoning. However, the material is mostly the same from both releases, albeit earlier selections from the warfield. I would think if the Warfield selections were good enough to be released in 1981, the band would have chosen those for reckoning. I was curious whether it was worth picking up since I already own Dead Set and Reckoning... doesnt look like it to me now though.

I guess I could have done a search and figured it out,.. Does anyone have the recent warfield release?
It really depends on how you want to shape your collection...what you're into. Do you collect complete sets or bootlegs of unreleased shows? If so you might want to grab these to either add to or compliment what you already have.
Some people would welcome an official release of the entire 1980 run at both the Warfield and Radio City like with the Europe 72...every show every song. All the repeats are played a little bit differently never exactly the same way twice.
I have always loved the Deadset cover/poster of the two skeltons over looking SF bay and Golden Gate Bridge.

A friend of mine picked it up. It was on in the background while we were hanging out. The sound quality was stellar. I just got a turntable so I went home and ordered a copy. It hasn't shown up yet but that brief listen inspired me to shell out 40 bucks.

Hey, just wanted to let folks know that the record store day release is still available on CD.
They told us it was limited to 3500, for RSD.
Now they say 6000, and it's up on dead.net for 19.98
Go grab it while you can, sounds fucking incredible to these ears.
