First significant road trip in a long time

Forums:

Fucking worked nights holidays and weekends for fifteen years. Mortgage paid off earlier in the year and all the personnel losses this year it's time to get away.  Louisiana to Colorado it's been thirty years since I lived in Boulder for a couple of years.

Gonna check out the state again and getting road head excited/ anticipation.

I'll be driving into Central City on Friday (solo time, FUCKIN a' ) then pick up the better half on Sunday.

Tad more than a week with some touristy stuff and mostly where ever we end up.

Gonna do the state+

!!!!!!!

Edit to add, we gonna get some onus.

Shit ,meant to say Patty will be flying in to Denver on Sunday.

Used to hang out and surf in Truro  summers 1965-1976. There were never any sharks around, and not many seals. I moved to Oregon in 76, and I knew I'd have to start worrying about them - a guy was bitten at Cannon Beach but survived a few months after I moved here.

I've never seen one here - knock on wood - but I'd be afraid at this point to go back in the water in Truro, something I had been hoping to do before I get too decrepit to get out there.

Maybe stay on the porch.

Good luck all.

Texas,,,well,,,Texas. Drove from Louisiana thorough Amarillo to Dalhart. Still in Texas damn near as far as you can go in the Panhandle. Pulled into a couple of places that were filled in Amarillo.

Got on the mobile internets and called the laquinta in Dalhart. $155, asked for aarp discount.   I'm not in arp. Got it. $138. Damn fine room.

Any way I check in the nice lady charges m $5.60. Dude over the phone credited my points I don't know from where. She said the points never go away.  My guess is from staying at LA quinta over 16 years ago.

Five and change. Hunker down time. Hope the luck continues.

Check in late leave early.

Good on ya!

Karma comin round, jaz!

Now just drive for a cpl days and if ya lucky, lol, you ll get out of Texas....

Surf....ya, the porch for me for sure...there have been sightings almost every day off Ptown ....its crazy how close to shore they are coming as well....prob looking for that poor seal....ill stick to Duck Pond (glacier pond) in Wellfleet (or Orleans??)...way back in woods past power linez there, i think its still Wellfleet, but, those ponds are freaking spring fed, chrystal clear water,.......w no sharks...unless they are land sharks....i may stick my toes in the Atlantic...thats about it....;)

Had a blast on eastern side . We are headed to Durango  now.. RMNP  Breathless!

Mesa Verde National Park in the next day or two. Looking forward.

Diggit y'all.

Ah, Mesa Verde!

Keep us in the loop!

Jazfish.... Have fun, drink plenty of water, and don't forget to check your rear view mirror --- and most importantly don't take fashion advice from NedfFest hippies

Just saw this thread... couldn't be happier for ya', my old buddy.

Be safe and have a blast!

Thanks all.

Alan, it would take about seven of those hopped up meads.

U.S.50/ 550 from   wherever it was to Durango is a white knuckle at times. Lot's o' ten mile an hour switch back speed limits on a U S Highway.  Wife got anxiety.

Towards Alberkerkeee Saturday.

Thanks all.
