Put the tree up the other night, and that coupled with the colder temps has me baking.  These are Lemon Raspberry Thumbprints

These guys are called Mud Hens.  They're a cookie bottom with a marshmallow and chocolate center with a brown sugar meringue top.IMG_6465.JPG

Some nice looking treats there. Good to see 'ya back on the black screen TH.

Damn. Looks good.

I could polish off that whole plate of cookies...

Good to see you posting for yourself again, Hoover, and yeah, those sweet treats look great...

Yum!

Happy Holidays Mr. Timmy Hoover

Someone knows how to bake

Looks great! When's the VLZ party?

are you trolling those with gender role issues, timmy?

The last time I baked, my muffins came out concave.  I need to stay away from the oven.

Your holiday treats look delish!

There was a time when I was working out of the house, consulting. Every Wednesday I'd cook an elaborate dinner with a more elaborate dessert. My daughter still tells me how much she misses that, and it was a long tme ago. Your kids will remember fondly, Timmy. Full-time parenting has its percs, and the kids' memories of tasty treats are one of them.

Do you bake these goods from scratch, Hoover?

right on ~ the 3rd ones look good, and, Alex hates marshmallow, so, more for us!

i'm sure that'd be easy to do gluten free

Alex and Jack are gonna bake for the High School band bake sale/craft fair next weekend. Alex loves to bake and pies are his specialty. growing yummy pumpkins for his fave, natch~

we'll be away for the first time ever this xmas, so it's kinda weird not to really decorate /:

there's a few things around, tho...

yay xmastime!

lolol, JamJuice!

St Mark, of course from scratch.  I did do some double chocolate cookies from a box but I wouldn't consider showing those.  That would be like saying "check out the Kraft Mac & Cheese I made"

Nice. Any particular tips and tricks you'd like to share?

Chill your dough in the fridge for two bongloads and a Cryptical > O1 before rolling out cookie balls.

Best recipe instructions ever.

first pic, u burnt them

Hoover shoot me your email, and I wil send you my addy.  Then you can mail me some cookies or something like that.  We can bond big fella.

nice seeing you guys last night

Great seeing you too.  Thanks for the beers.

Sierra was excited to show Grandma the sticker Uncle Turtle gave her.

Just finishing up a metric shit-ton of sugar cookies for the daughters pre-k class to decorate tomorrow.

Will you take pics after they've been decorated?

Sure.  I won't be in the class when they decorate them but we'll do some at home too so my son doesn't feel left out.

The thumbprints in the first post have been the biggest hit so far.

was thinking about reducing a cup of champagne to 1/3 of a cup and mixing with apricot jam for the next batch.  Where's Chef Bonghair?  I could use some guidance.

damn, those mud hens look and sound really especially tasty.

maybe brandy/ginger/apricot/vanilla bean?

They are/were.

Also super easy to make.

cool, kids love stickers. its universal.

and thumbprints...not just for kids. yours were great but my faves come from Emily's bakery in the Cruz..

Alex has a double apple pie and coconut cream going for my girly's band craft fair and bake sale tomorrow.

he's trying an egg in the crust for the first time for added moisture, but i am still looking for lard to make the authentic *flake* that his crusts need to be just exactly perfect (:

timmy just go for the change in recipe!! the best things i make have been perfected by personal touches~

Hey Timmy, the Recipe folder in Creative/Cosmic awaits when you're ready. I hope you post some of your recipes in there.

IMG_6798.JPGIMG_6799.JPGThanks Judit.  I'll leave some content there.

As promised, pics of the decorated cookies.  When a group of 2-6 year olds decorates cookies they look like some sort of Dali. Reation

Looks like lots of fun Timmy!

Your son looks like a hand full really reminds me of Dennis the Menace, ever photo so far of him cracks me up, makes me smile and makes my day.

Have a fun Holiday, your kids are at a great age for Christmas.

Boy do I feel old now!

I know BeNice wants to hang with them someday

What a great shot of the kids around the table. Heartwarming. Way to go, Hoover. Nice dad work.

I would like the thumbprints recipe?
