Grateful Dead Members Reunite With Branford at Lockn' Fest 2018

Forums:

Yes I know the title is a bit deceiving  but it is accurate.  Would have been better to just come out and say it was DeadCo. Should be a good time.

A Grateful Dead late-career highlight will be celebrated during on August 26th, when Lockn' Festival headliners Dead & Company – featuring John Mayer with former Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann – will reunite with jazz veteran Branford Marsalis, whose collaboration with the band at Long Island's Nassau Coliseum in March 1990 has become one of the Dead's most legendary shows.

I would imagine they are referring to Branford's sit ins with the GD in the 90's.

Branford with Phil was a highlight for me of the phil and friends shows!

Great link JR

Furthur with Branford at the last US show at red rocks was a highlight-I think in 2013 or 2014?

Also, Phil and Friends at the beacon in 2000!

Yawn

Marketing hype to me, but any collaboration has potential.  I was at the original Bradford/Dead performance and didn't think it was as stellar as many view it now--thought it was an average show.  I was at the MSG show when Dave Murray sat in and now, that to my ears was better than their Bradford collaboration, but that is what makes the world go round.
