Hot Sauce

Forums:

With another bumper crop of chile peppers this fall, have been experimenting with different hot sauce recipes.   Made some pique, which is a vinegar based Puerto Rican table condiment, with lemon aji peppers and other ingredients from the garden.   Good stuff and will be making more for an upcoming "homemade" X-mas gift exchange:

For commercial stuff, Marie Sharp's habanero sauce from Belize is my go to bottle:

Have any of you been making homemade hot sauce or have a particular favorite brand?

Pretty much make at least a small 5-6 cup batch a week using whatever is ripe in the backyard at the time.  Last batch was mostly habanero with a few Scorpions for an added kick.m

About to try a habanero hummus recipe but I’m skipping the roasted red pepper and using way more than one hab.

Our neighbor grew a lot of chili peppers.....so when I was low on the dill for the dilly beans....I added chili peppers and spearmint.  They taste fantastic!  The pepper and mint go well together, pickled.
