Forums:

June is here and I'm back to grabbing free CD's out of boxes on the curb.  Pretty good catch this afternoon:

John Fahey - God, Time and Causality

Dr. John & Chris Barber - On A Mardi Gras Day (live in London at the Marquee on April 15, 1983)

Dr. John - In The Right Place

Patti Smith Group - Radio Ethiopia

The Rolling Stones = Sympathy For The Devil

I may have posted this before, but this album is frequently in my rotation.

John Fahey was great...if you like him, try Robbie Basho

John Fahey, Robbie Basho, Leo Kottke - unusual, transporting, I listened to them a lot in the olden days.

I'll do as you say, dickyb.  I miss you man.

Judit, I'll check on Mr. Kottke as well (miss you too)

I miss you guys, too, the sweet TXR crowd. My mom died 2 years ago and I was happy to get to be home for more than a few weeks at a time, but then travel abruptly ended and I'm still not quite able to come down there. 2 of my sisters (John, you know Margaret) and a b-i-l are coming to visit me here in a couple of weeks. It'll be so good to see them

LOVE ROCKS NYC thingy.  Yootoobs via roku out da big-ass 80s speakers.

Yes Noodler, RIP Libby Goines.   I knew her from my days at the Kerrville Folk Festival.  She was a good friend and beautiful person.  Her voice and song were like an angel.  She was an amazing textile artist.

please check out this video.

Good stuff here

I loved the video of Libby Goines, Trailhead. I had never heard of her. She was definitely an amazing textile artist. I was a weaver in years past and really appreciate her vision and skills. Lovely.

Thanks Trailhead, my local friends say shes one of the best of the best local performers, songwriters, etc...   here she's on backup vocals (wish I could find videos of her)

Raven Darlene, guitar. Libby Kirkpatrick, Libby Goines and Marca Cassity, singing. MC is Christopher Yarrow. Filmed at Kerrville Folk Festival Staff Concert 1999 by Bill Oliver.

Awesome Noodler.  There is a good chance I'm in that audience.   All great women who are Kerrverts on the stage.  I worked with Libby Kirkpatrick in the staff kitchen , she's super sweet. And Darlene is an absolute gem.
Not to hijack, the music thread , but Kerrville deserves it.  It's an 18 day long music festival!!!  I could seriously see a Texas Hill Country Zoner Jam there.  Plus Kerrville is May-June, so appropriate in this month's music thread.
