Just bought Tuna tickets

Forums:

fuck it...this has been the longest stretch of non-live-music in my life since I was like, 13.

Tuna at a drive-in about an hour down the road on a week night. Why the hell, not? I got heated seats.

Sweet. Electric Tuna?

stub my car down

Been So Long will be poignant.

You get bothered by people talking to other audience members and on their cell phones during the music?

You are about to experience another level of hell when people start beeping their car hones in time with the music. Believe me, you will pray for the good old days when you were annoyed by those loud talkers.

So how does the sound work? Standard PA w/ windows open? Doesn't sound safe. In-car sound via car radio/electronic device? Only works if you have lots of big speakers in your car. Other?

^

At the drive-in show I attended it was both a standard PA and and FM radio signal. The PA was augmented by satellite speakers at various places in the parking lot.

Thanks Tony.

Does the drive-in allow fans to stand next to their car or on the hood or on the back of a flatbed truck to dance?

I couldn't stand sitting down locked in a car for an entire show, no matter what kind of car speakers I might have.

oh DOH, the answer was in my jambands.com link  (just now having coffee, so be kind)

Have a blast. Can you bring your own mead?

Well turns out it's not an actual drive in...it's at the fairgrounds. On a small sliver of land.

But it's a drive in style show. Priced 4 per car.

I heard with a PA. Loud enough that you can park on a nearby public street and hear it for free.

I have no idea what the scene is going to be, but I'm bracing for a clusterfuck and hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Turns out it's hosted by the All Good Festival  people and they have tuned it into a regular venue. Dark Star, Grace Potter,  Goose, Pigeons Playing, Disco Biscuits, and more are booked this month.

I will only go to Tuna, knowing people will eventually turn this into a covid hot spot or drug fueled mayhem with automobiles.

You think I would have researched the show a little more before buying a 1 car ticket for $218, but I just heard "Hot-Tuna-an-hour-away-sit-in-your-car" and hit the button like a rat in a psychology experiment. I'm pretty sure the last live music we saw was Kimock  / Cabinet, this past New Years Eve.

Cool ^^^

I was thinking on that DSO run but the best 2 sections sold out pretty quickly... just read that they added 1 more night, Nov. 1!

In other Tuna news, Quarantine Vault #4 today (Sat) at 5pm pst will feature Jorma talking about Janis Joplin, and a 2014 interview he did with Grace Slick (!), with archive footage in between the segments.

Another Zoner and I were there too. Hmmmm, do we know eachother?

the blow up sex doll went home with me that night

Hey Hot Tuna Fans!

We are sad to inform you that due to unforeseen circumstances, Hot Tuna will no longer be performing on Oct 22nd. Thank you in advance for your understanding. All tickets will be refunded within the next 24 hours.

YIKES!

Bah

i hope the fellas are staying healthy during this time

Trump and his cabinet are surviving.

The lack-of-show pain is real!  Sorry Alan!

I also noticed that Kimock is supposed to join Hot Tuna for a show in NY on Nov 29/30... I'm tracking the Zero east coast dates in November.

There will be zero dates this year is right.

Wow, that sucks it was canceled  Alan :(.  Maybe look for a show with pod type ticketing before it gets to cold, we are heading to CT for our 2nd Warren show in a cow pasture...lol.

I have attended about 5 safe distancing/pod shows and it works well....local bands and a Wharf Rat festival here in South Jersey. It will def help me to get thru the winter months when there is no live and in person music again. So sorry this happened.

^^^ ha ha MostHigh, for real!

I wrote Kimock's management / publicity and guess who wrote back: Dennis McNally!   He said he was surprised that 2 of the venues (Tarrytown and Boston) are still selling Zero tix... and not to hold too much hope... he's going to write back when he knows more.
