that sort of thing is a pretty common sentiment although to varying degrees...none of that crazy catholic shit is in the bible at all - no church on sunday, no vatican, no pope, no funny hats, no virgin mary stuff, no crazy symbology, no saints, a huge portion of it is justified by a super complicated version of "because this guy in a funny hat told us to do it" played out thru thousands of years
