That's why God created roommates

It's a shame.  But Raz is right.  Roommate are sort of the norm these days, even for urbanites who make good money.

Slacker - I get where you are coming from, but maybe check the math (maybe check my math, toot).

Median rent for one-bedroom apartment: $1,463 a month (*2020)

that's $365 a week, right?

divided by 79 hrs = $4.62 / hr. That seems kinda low. You should be making more than that.

I think federal minimum wage is $7.25?

So guess you want to institute the $15 minimum wage and only work 40 hrs and get your pre tax 2,400 month? Two people doin that = $4,800.  Just don't get sick.

"In order to afford a modest two-bedroom apartment at the Fair Market Rent in Vermont, full-time workers need to earn $23.68 an hour, or $49,258 annually. It's a mess out there and I really feel for everyone struggling.  We bought our first home in 2019 and I'm just thankful everyday that we have this place and things are working out for us.  We just refinanced the mortgage to 1300 a month and I'm about to complete paying off my student loans (I'm 33); it really is remarkable the weight that has been lifted off my shoulders over the last year as I continue to climb out of credit card (and other general) debt.

Life's hard- being a single parent is hard.  I'm just really grateful for my home and family who help out with childcare.  Love to all of those being put through the meat grinder of life.

Roomates are ok - when you're in your 20's.  When there's a problem or disagreement you end up punching each other out - and the next day you laugh it off over beers. Not so much as you get older.
