Phil & Friends added to Mountain Jam

Forums:

Not sure of the lineup though.

Luckily, if you have VIP tickets, you can rent a up to 5 person RV for only 4200 + tax.

Only?  Shit, sign me up for 2.

I saw phil and friends at the last mt jam where warren and scofield played in the band. Four of us went to the show, one we picked up in Binghamton, a friend of a friend. He drank all day and didn't eat a thing. The three of us who had a clue paced ourselves. Half way thru the Phil set the little guy we picked up in Binghamton keels over. One minute hes standing there, the next he flat on his back. I know him as a Al from Binghamton. I'm thinking the guy drops dead next to me and I don't even know his name. A kind hearted freak nearby came to the rescue. He got some food and a sugary drink and he was revived. Turns out he had early onset diabetes.

The show was great and I would think I might go see this if Phil is playing, prolly the same cast of characters except Al from Binghamton who passed away this past year.

Moral of the story is if you are at an all day fest make sure you eat something and get all the names of your traveling companions.

family band w/ warren. lol.

>>>family band w/ warren. lol.

Is this just a guess or is this lineup confirmed?

Probably PhilRAD with Warren.

I heard its Son of PhScoMock with Warren

Phil lesh and friends died back in late 2008.

I believe it is the same line up as Peachfest.

Warren, Scofield, Molo & Medeski

Only 1 set for PLF?  JRAD is playing  2 sets

New York’s Mountain Jam Music Festival has added Phil Lesh & Friends to its 2019 lineup, alongside previously announced headliners like Willie Nelson & Family, Gov’t Mule and The Avett Brothers. (Other new additions include Particle Kid, Little Days, Los Coast. Laura Stevenson, The Rock Academy & Ratboy Jr.)

Aligning with the festival’s renewed “Back to the Jam” ethos, the 2019 lineup showcases jam scene regulars like Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Dispatch, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Twiddle, Amy Helm, The Allman Betts Band and Brandon “Taz” Niederauer.

Warren Haynes, who helped found the festival hasn’t played it since 2016, and returns this year as a presenter alongside Radio Woodstock.

Another Mountain Jam co-founder, Gary Chetkof, told the Poughkeepsie Journal that he thinks the festival’s new location at Bethel Woods “is like the Taj Mahal of sites. What could be more amazing than Bethel Woods and the home of the Woodstock festival? It was really just a matter of going to the promised land.”

Chetkof notes that moving away from the festival’s original home at Hunter Mountain was “very emotional” and also speaks on the new “Back to the Jam” booking approach, saying that the festival “just didn’t have the right balance” in the past couple of years. “We went a little too younger and a little too hipper than we should have. We learned a lot.”

It looks like whatever the PaF lineup is, it will also be doing multiple dates on Willie Nelson's Outlaw Festival as well.

>Only 1 set for PLF?

If I were running a fest I wouldn't book Phil for 2 sets. Nothing worse than a Mtns of the Moon, Rosemary or some other bullshit when everyone is in full on party mode.

One long set works just fine.

^

Plus JRADs sets are on two different days.

^^^ yup, 6 dates on the 8-10 date run of "blackbirds Outlaw Music Fest"...artists vary on shows, but, phil hitting maine, warrens mt jam at bethel, hartford, and 3 others (chicago, st. Louis and one other i think)....basic lineup for those shows w phil and friends is willie, allison krausse, phil, lukas nelson and promise of the real, danial radcliffe or is it nathanial? I always mix that up...and particle kid...

Htfd show is a sunday...june 16....be there!

phil's set at the outlaw show was pretty bad...

They announced the whole Outlaws run this morning. Starts in my backyard on Friday 6/14 so thats always nice. I'll check out the pre-sale tomorrow. No word on the costs or seating configuration so far.

Ratboy Jr.?

Phil came out already playing on the backside of the spinning stage. It was weird.

Who was in the band Turts?

Not a very outlaw country setlist.  I guess at least they didn’t play Sweet Jane.

Outllaw set  wasn't pretty bad it was a very bad Set.   Most disappointed I've ever been with a Lesh band    With your family band I can have zero expectations       But JFC opportunity lost. Crappy drummer     Grade b lead guitarist  picked up three days before the show and MF Jackie Greene really contributed to the shit fest. Crosby held his own.    But that wasn't enough for Sure

Looking forward to being 50 miles Away and to the east of the festival grounds.

Pre-sale this morning.....front 5 rows at $550.....drops to $125 for front section. $80 for the back section seats and $30 for the lawn. Fuck me

$5 lawn seat at the gate

I picked up tix for St. Louis w/ Willie and for Peach Fest.

PLF

^terrible.

that lineup is like putting ketchup on a steak

ill 3rd the motion

A well done burger at the right picnic can be a little piece of heaven.

Yikes lineup looks like MLB vs AA exhibition game

Calling a band with Phil, Molo, Larry & Teresa in it "Terrible" sounds either bitter or clueless.

^^^^^ It's very easy.  Ross James, Grahame Lesh, and Alex Koford = TERRIBLE.   Add the fact that Phil doesn't rehearse anymore and just wings it.  And the lemmings just lap it up. no

^^is sad better? it’s pretty sad as well.

I wish I could disagree with the above statement

Nice line up!

Koford doesn't add much on drums, but he can keep time. GL has improved a lot and doesn't usually drag things down.

RMFJ, however, should go back to working at the restaurant. No voice to speak of, and no chops or good tone on the six-string.

Switch in Ezra Lipp for Koford and Stu for Ross and you got a band.

Saying that the drummer doesn't add much and the guitarist doesn't drag things down is hardly a strong endorsement for seeing this band.

A friend tried telling me the exact same thing about deadco yesterday. “When John doesn’t sing and Bobby remembers all the words, they actually sound pretty good.”

um, no
