big god damn deal. Honestly, their greedy bullshit the past few years has completely turned me off of Phish. Scalping your own tickets pretty much was the final straw. fuck em.

LOL Saban sounds like a big Dead $ Company fan

Can you hook me up with one of your $200 field tickets so I can get close to my idol John Mayer?!

Who is buying scalped Phish tickets? they aren’t hard to come by, it’s not Taylor Swift.

And Ned I hate to break it to you but I think bands started scalping their own tickets a long time ago. Some other people here are probably better informed but this isn’t a new phenomenon. Didn’t Butch Trucks used to scalp tickets himself outside venues they were playing?

It's cool their doing multi-night runs at arenas.  Not many Rock 'n Roll acts left that still have that pull.

Makes me a little nostalgic, but not enough to travel to see them at any of those places.  Nice for those that are in to it.

Ugh. I really dont want to spend three days in Hampton, VA at this point in my life.

"it’s not Taylor Swift. "

Apparently Taylor Swift isn't Taylor Swift anymore....

Taylor Swift Ticket Prices Plummet as “Swift Tix” Charade Falls Apart

The bold gambit that Ticketmaster and Taylor Swift’s management pulled with her upcoming tour appears to be falling apart in spectacular fashion. After ratcheting up perceived demand through its monetized “Swift Tix” presale system, Taylor Swift ticket prices for the “Reputation” tour have been plummeting, including a recent promotion that slashed service fees in what the New York Post called a “desperate bid to boost sales.” Not a single stop on the stadium tour has sold out, and many stops have huge numbers of seats still up for grabs as the opening date in early May approaches.

^^^^ nice!!

Even noobs are getting wise to the the whole scam of holding back tickets to create false scarcity (while funneling primo seats directly to 3rd parties). Fuck'm.

>Honestly, their greedy bullshit the past few years has completely turned me off of Phish. Scalping your own tickets pretty much was the final straw. fuck em. <

Only time I  paid more than face for a Phish Tix was 1994 Halloween... paid $20 over face.

Often you can't even give away a lawn seat.

Fuck them indeed, but the only way to stop this "insider" scalping is for people to stop buying tickets and that is not likely to happen.

For what its worth, I aint going to see "My Bobby is a Wonderland" either. Concert prices have gotten way out of hand lately. Cant even go to a fest without being charged to camp. The whole world has gone nanners.

Was going to do Watkins Glen but at 56 I think I'm all set with being out in the hot August sun for 5 days. Definitely hitting the Albany shows though this fall.

>>>>Scalping your own tickets pretty much was the final straw. fuck em.

When did that happen, anyway? I’m not sure if I’ve heard this story.

Nashville seems interesting.  Never been there,  flights are cheap enough,  heard it's a Fun town.

Venue holds about 6000 people.

And Ned, I don't really know what you've seen that would classify Phish as greedy. They have held ticket prices down greatly compared to other acts. They still have the lottery to give phans a chance to get tix before the public on sale dates. And I haven't seen an instance of them scalping their own tickets.

They're greedy because they don't charge $35 with a $2 fee, man.

And the idea of a band or promoter "scalping" their own tickets is just a little odd to me. The tickets belong to the bands & promoters; why can't they charge whatever they want?

And either way, if a $75/$100 ticket is going to sell for $200/$300+, why should some scalper organization get that money and not the bands & promoters who do all the work to put on the shows?

Whatever. Tickets for Tahoe & San Francisco are damned pricey, but I have a job so I'm excited to see a great band and some great shows that I'll almost certainly remember far longer than whatever else I'd have spent those almighty dollars on.

$35 with a $2 dollar fee? What fucking decade do you think this is? Those prices wouldn't get them to the break even point for a tour! Not to mention that with artists getting paid shit for their music due to all of the streaming services or pirated music, they need some form of revenue just to make a living.

$65 - $85 per ticket is pretty damn good compared to most other acts. Shit, I hadn't seen Neil in a long time so a couple years ago I dropped $165 per ticket to sit 30 rows back at Great Woods, and that was face value!

And show me the evidence of Phish scalping their own tix...

well said Boone

Sweet!

Hope to get all floors for Vegas

Lottery done - fingers crossed

Santana doing a residency the same week at HOB. I'm feeling a sit-in on his night off.

Phishy Halloween in Las Vegas! Going to a Halloween Phish show is high on my wife's bucket list, and I don't ever need my arm twisted to go to Vegas. Anticipating something fun like this, we scheduled our annual fundraising event a few weeks earlier than in previous years, so we can be done with business and freaking freely on Halloween! Yabba Dabba Doo. What cover album rumors will be believed? I heard from a frivolous flake in my mind that the band is rehearsing Frampton Comes Alive. Do you, YOU, Feel like I do?!?

Moonflower FTW!

Phish lottery charges are rolling in! I got two of the four Vegas nights I requested.

Wish the email would come so I know which days I just bought smiley

I got shut out of the 2 I requested last 2 nights in Vegas and only requested a single each night. Guess it's Live Nation for me or if needed StubHub

My first Vegas Phish show:

Went to a bunch in latter years at the big basketball gym,  even that Halloween where they covered "Loaded".
However,  the Aladdin one was Super Epic.  It was my first visit to "Fear And Loathing" town and after that,  they tore down the old Aladdin and built a new one.

My buddy Dave & I heard of the show,  and we thought it would be a good idea to fly from Oregon in the dankest part of Winter to catch a few rays.

Dave had a terrible airplane phobia and had not flown in ages.  He ate some valium to keep calm,  and the nice Stewardess observed him clenching the armrest,  in mortal fear,  and brought him cocktails first.  Between the Booze & Pills he managed to calm down,  and enjoy the aeroplane ride.

We camped at the "Luxor"  pyramid - shaped hotel,  which is a squalid Motel 6 place.  However,  if you ever visit,  be sure and explore the back stairs (as if the inclinator did not function).  It's really an Engineering marvel how they rig stairs in that shape of a structure.
