Wow. A show that wasn't really working for me, to a show that totally twisted my brain.

There was some heavy jamming going on in the second set, and for those who diss Phish because of the trampoline business, a shallow end swing & a miss.

You Enjoy Myself was brilliant tonight, and the aging dudes handled the trampoline bit just fine. It was fucking great.

Two shows, two COMPLETELY different shows.

Isn't that what we all are looking for?

At least I am.

What a great fucking band.

See you in SF!!!!

Last night sounded awesome after a soso first night...(which is still way better than 75% of other acts best nights)

Limb by Limb>2001> YEM was crazy good

Is Martian Monster different than BBFCFM?

yes

I missed the start of Set I.

So was it "Here Come The Martian Martians",  the Jonathon Richman tune ??

"Here Come The Martian Martians by Jonathan Richman...

Here come the Martain Martians
And I wouldn't be surprised if they were riding on their Martian bike
And we have to find out right now
What kind of flavor do these Martians like

Here come the Martian Martians
And they're riding on their Martian bike
Well, we have to find out right now
What kind of ice cream do the Martians like?
Here come the Martian Martians
Why staying in such a cheap hotel?
Maybe we should help out the Martians
Looks like the Martians ain't doin' too well

Martian time time time
Well, it's Martian rhyme time
We got a Martian rhyme for Martian Martian time
And the Martians got notebooks in their little hand
Well they're strangers in this land
Martian time It's Martian Martian time

Well, here come the Martian Martains
They're trying to fight with rocks and sticks
Don't the Martians know better?
Looks like they're up to their same old tricks
Well, here come the Martian Martians
They got notebooks in their hand
What are they trying to write down?
I guess they must be strangers in this land

Martian rhyme rhyme
Well, Martian time time
Well, you got Martian rhymes for Martian Martian time
See, the Martians have notebooks in their little hand
See, they're still strangers in this land
Martian time, it's Martian Martian time

Well, here come the Martians
Baking up a Martian cake
We better find out right now
What kind of flavor do these Martians make
Well, here come the Martian Martians
There're Martian schoolgirls too
Well, I like the Martian schoolgirls
And I hope they like me too
Martian rhyme rhyme rhyme
It's Martian time time time
You got the Martian rhymes for Martian Martian time

The Martians have notebooks in their little hand
Because they're strangers in this land
Martian rhyme, it's Martian Martian time
Well, here come the Martian Martians
Well, they're baking up a Martian pie
I hope the Martians like me
And give some to I
Well, here come the Martian Martians
Well, they're setting up a Kool-Aid stand
Where's their financial advisor?
Somebody should take him by the hand
Martian rhyme rhyme rhyme
Martian time time time
You got a Martian rhyme for Martian Martian time
And the Martians have notebooks in their little hand
They're still strangers in this land
Martian rhyme, it's Martian Martian time..."

Dude has his curveball bracelet on already lol

Martian Monster debuted on 10/31/14, part of that Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House Halloween show.

"Your trip is short".

i like his hair here

i'd like to see your hair t.od.  never good to throw stones at glass houses.

My wife and I enjoyed both Tahoe shows tremendously. The music was rocking and the vibe was fun! The band was excellent, and the sound was great from my perspective in the middle of the floor.

I thought I saw you, Lance, standing next to me in a slow moving herd walking back from restroom area. I emphatically looked up and said "DUDE!" to somebody who resembles you quite a bit.  Mrs. Tofu Head thought he was you, too. It sure wasn't the first or last time a stranger looked at me strangely. But I knew you were there and digging it! Glad you enjoyed the shows too.

Light Side (95%): Great crowd inside the show. Happy, fun, polite, friendly people. The real fans! Really cool to be part of such a cool community. We talked, danced, got high and hung out with people ranging from early 20s to late 60s, all sharing a fun and inspiring connection.

Dark Side (5%): Nothing new. Typical Wookie scene outside and NO2 balloons were the only turn offs for me. Clean up your trash, people. Yuck! How hard is it to put a used balloon in your pocket instead of throwing it on the ground, after you've enjoyed your silly 20 second head rush for $10? The degenerate outliers that travel with the band just to sell stuff and/or get wasted are not Phish fans, or even good people. They are just dirty, ignorant, selfish, clueless assholes seizing an opportunity to get more than they give, with no responsibility for the consequences of their own immediate gratification. I'm not a fan of excessive security and police presence, but would prefer that they crack down on the NO2 vending by kicking them out as soon as they set up shop, and finding ways to bust them if they continue. That would solve a big part of the problem. Fuck that shit!

Good thing the band's concerts are so great that it is 100% worth wading through the squalor of Wookieville for a few minutes to go to the show!

For me, Phish shows are the place where I feel excitement and energy comparable to the way it felt going to Grateful Dead shows in the 80s. The music is completely different, but the experience is similar. There isn't anything else like it in the music biz in as grand a capacity. Phish is on top, perhaps the ONLY ones who do what THEY do! At times, I felt like an intense acid trip was coming on, and went there with the exciting flashback buzz even though I didn't take any acid. FREE! (hears music from Free opener in head)

Good shit!

Great review Tofu!

It seemed that there was more of the lot losers around this time, but by spending the extra money to stay at Harvey's it's hard to really tell and makes all of that nonsense pretty much a moot issue.

For me staying at the hotel is one of the many great & unique things about the shows there; being able to hang in the large, comfortable (air conditioned) hotel room, enjoying adult beverages with friends while looking down on the venue watching it slowly fill, and when hearing the crowd cheer for the band hitting the stage being able to leave the room and walk into the venue just as the music starts is just too easy and way too cool.

This year, with the smoke from the fires and a general low energy personal vibe I didn't even leave the grounds of the place the entire time I was there, and yet I had a total blast at the two shows and the three days I was there.

Next time let's do three shows!

Now I'm really looking forward to the completely different energy of the down & dirty, intense old-school rock vibe of the Civic. I'll be roaming the balcony both nights seeking the sweet spot. I'm still on the fence about LA, so the two SF shows will make or break my final decision on that.

It's getting more difficult in my advancing years to physically and emotionally motivate to get to as many distant shows as I have in the past. Even running the hour & a half to two+ hour gauntlet from San Jose to San Rafael is getting harder for me, despite Phil continuing to play at an amazing level and the excellent overall quality of the shows I've seen at TxR this year, but at the moment Phish is still playing at a very high, very satisfying level and their shows still inspire that youthful excitement in me, which is pretty awesome after all these years and that continues to make it all worth the effort & expense.

Long live Phish!!!

Long live Rock 'n Roll!!!!!

N n jimmeee has last night's gorge streaming.... might want to check nown streeemers..

Listened to this yesterday.....boy were they running out of stream by the end of the 2nd set. Limb > 2001 > YEM was actually pretty turgid, contrary to what the poster above said
