I agree. Mystery Box was tremendous in concert and the songs were good. The dancers were hot as hell, and I got to see MIckey rap to Fire with Jack Casady on bass. I enjoyed it.
Saw Mickey's Mystery Box at the Furthur Fest at the Gorge in '96. Nothing really stood out musically about Mickey's set and the whole affair had a really sad vibe. Guess it was too soon after Jerry died. (Bruce's band playing Wharf Rat at sunset was sublime though).
Seen Mickey's bands about six times since then and its always been good and usually included a rapping FOTM (except the Planet Drum shows). Mickey also did a rapping FOTM at "the Dead" at the Gorge in 2003.
