>Morrissey's camp did not take kindly to Sunday's installment of The Simpsons.

The British musician's manager, Peter Katsis, wrote a searing diatribe about the show, specifically the episode "Panic on the Streets of Springfield," over the character Quilloughby, voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch.

"Surprising what a 'turn for the worst' the writing for The Simpson's [sic] tv show has taken in recent years," reads a post by Katsis on Morrissey's Facebook page. "Sadly, The Simpson's show started out creating great insight into the modern cultural experience, but has since degenerated to trying to capitalize on cheap controversy and expounding on vicious rumors."

A representative for Fox didn't immediately respond to EW's request for comment...

Apu's last notable speaking appearance was in season 29's first episode, "The Serfsons," which aired October 1, 2017. Since then, Apu has appeared among fellow Simpsons characters but has not spoken or had his own storyline — including when seen in smaller groups and when all other characters have a line.Feb 26, 2020

yeah, Morrissey's politics aren't so good. Too bad, his sarcasm was amusing when I was a teen.

I'm so very sickened  that Morrissey turned fascist.

From the Guardian:

"Morrissey, 61, has consistently denied being racist, but has been condemned on many occasions in the past for his comments on race, including referring to Chinese people as a “subspecies” citing their treatment of animals, calling halal meat “evil”, saying the animals suffer, and saying the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, cannot speak properly.

He has also expressed support for the far-right For Britain party, wearing a badge bearing its logo during a US TV performance."

Bret from Flight of the Conchords helped with the music.

Had no idea about Morrisey until this episode and the ensuing hissy fit. The Simpsons strike again!

That Morrisey, he's so emo.

Money changes everything

It was a good 'un.

Morrissey was a bit of a tool before the blatant xenophobia.  Made some good records, tho'.

Yes- the Simpsons could parody those guys ^

Van Morrison put on one of the least entertaining shows I've ever seen ( George Thurogood being that all time title holder )

We should take up a collection and send Morrissey a nice spray of gladiolus, or some other funeral arrangement.

He is human, and he needs to be loved, just like everybody else does.

In Mexico, he is treated like a god.  It's a little bizarre.  Kind of like Jerry Lewis and the French.
