Soul of the future?

Who's taking over when the old shit fades away?

We need 98% more punk bands and 83% less Grateful Dead cover bands.

That would be a good start.

Isn't it about time for a "New Thing" to take hold?

>>>We need 98% more punk bands

Uh, no.

But its a serious question.  The new outlaw country movement has some up and coming young people.   King Gizzard is good for psychedelic rock.   But new soul performers?   Let me know.

There are some well-established 30-40 year old artists, like Leon Bridges, Adele and The New Mastersounds, that should be around for a while.

This is a list of young, developing performers:

More like guitar dominated music still in play and that includes punk, hair metal, grunge.

So the olds grip will be in play for a minute.

Not to worry, someday hip-hop will be grocery store music,

>>>We need 98% more punk bands

Uh, no.

Uh, yes. Probably 598% more punk bands. Let's face it. The majority of punk bands aren't very good. Actually most are really bad. It's mostly a DIY scene and bands form, reform, transform and deform on a weekly basis. You need a whole lot of bands to be created in order to get a few that are good enough to break out of the scene to broader audiences. Don't worry about being overpopulated with punk rock, Ken. Most don't last 3 months.
