Thanks For Voting. Here Is A Treat

Forums:

Please listen to these tunes. Me & Steven used to go see them every time they played.

The 1st one is a go out & vote message & the 2nd one is a plea for change performed @ SF Jazz.

Jazz Mafia... I'd heard of them but never listened, before now

good stuff... important stuff

thanks Crab

Crabneesh, how are ya?

Thanks for these good tunes... I'm a bit familiar with Jazz Mafia.

I am well Miss Lollo. How are you? I am a bummed that they have closed the SF indoor dining again.

I will continue to try to be good until this virus lifts.

What about you? Are you trying to be good or are you just naturally that way?

Thinking of the Jazz Mafia & their 1st incarnation (they have multiple ensambles) was The Shotgun Wedding Quintet. I used to see them often with my Little Brother Steven @ Bruno's on Mission Street here in S.F. In was a small room that held 50-60 people. We would go & listen to Dublin & the rest & he would do free style. Between sets we would all go in back & lay the shit out & cut it up.

A good time was had by all.

^^^^gah, the energy in that room at Bruno's, love it!
I'm well, thanks, but miss being out in the world.

Takeout dining just doesn't cut it, does it? Which restaurants do you miss the most?
By chance did you know a tiny old Basque restaurant in North Beach / Columbus called Des Alpes?

I'm glad you're being good like you should... so am I...

I miss so many restaurants. In the end of October I did get back into the House of Prime Rib. They reopened with 25% occupancy & booked 3 months @ once but a buddy had 3 separate reservations pending when they closed & he is a favored customer so as they were reopening they called him 1 week before & he got a 4-top.

It was great to be back. Everything was still the same but with social distancing. No siting @ the bar. We were taken straight to our table. The tables were spaced with 1 empty 1 in between. The food was great, too say nothing of the martinis, but it was distanced also, the salad was spun in the room but about 6 feet from the table & the beef cart was also about 6 feet away. So  much for dinner & a show.

But the food was good. We are all guys so we each had the King Cut with seconds.

I had 3 martinis, definitely 1 too many.

Even the Valet was open.

I do know Des Alpes & love Basque cooking but I have not been there in years.

About 10 - 12 of us have to do something in early December to celebrate my Little Brother Steven's passing.  We usually dine in Occidental but that is not happening so we are leaning toward a great Mexican seafood place in Marin called La Hacienda which has a big covered outdoor patio.

Sounds like a good dining experience.

Sadly, Des Alpes (It was on Broadway @ Stockton, my bad) is no longer open.

When you mentioned Occidental it reminded me of that Italian restaurant in the old hotel? Don't know the name.

The Union Hotel. That is where we usually go to for Steven's celebration but not this year.
