AC/DC Shot In The Dark

4/5ths of the Back In Black line-up with nephew Stevie Young taking over for Uncle Malcolm on 2nd guitar.  The new album was co-written by Malcolm and Angus during the Black Ice sessions, and is a tribute to Malcolm as Back In Black was to Bon Scott.

Sounding good.

Awesome stuff!

(Saw them on their first US tour, warming up for Aerosmith in Long Beach CA...  they blew them off the freaking stage!  Bon Scott rules!)

A year or two later we pulled into a gas station outside of Houston and it looked like a ZZ Top lookalike contest, lol...  turns out it was the roadies / crew, gear, and the band Nantucket, who were warming up for them (AC/DC had a leer jet for the tour).  They hit us up for weed, be we ran out in New Orleans, but I pulled out the old "f" holed acoustic and played a few tunes for them, really nice guys!

Saw them open for UFO that first tour, and unlike Aerosmith UFO held their own but AC/DC took no prisoners, from the stage, from the Audience, Bon and Angus put on a show and tore the place up. Universal jaw drop at the set break of what the fuck just hit us

the best opening act I ever seen, with Van Halen opening for Black Sabbath a near second, not close, but still in the rear view mirror

my brother in-law takes me to metal shows, but retired from seeing shows, was going to try to get him out for Tool again but Covid shut that down, maybe I can pull him out of retirement for AC/DC

I saw them on their Who Made Who tour in St. Louis around 86.  They had a Angus Young look alike contest on stage during the show that my buddy's younger brother won.  9 years later, on the Dead's Summer From Hell tour he had his back broken when he fell off a balcony that collapsed at a Grateful Dead campground in St. Louis.

Still in my top 5 shows of all time.  Pure unadulterated rock.

While their live shows are something else, have to say their post-Back in Black songwriting is predictable.   I used to be able to just look at the song titles on the album sleave of any Brian Johnson era record and pretty much know how the song would go.   This latest song, Shot in the Dark, was no exception.

Good to see them back.  The world needs AC/DC.
