WCZJ Survey Thread

Forums:

I'm helping LLOLLO gather and sift through data about people's preferences for the WCZJ, and started this thread to collect information about zoner interest.

Please understand that whatever you post here is in no way a commitment. We're just trying to get a sense of how many might come, and where and when might work for the most people.

If we could confine our comments in this thread to answering the following questions (ideally in a single post per zoner), that would be great. The thread Ken started is a better place for general WCZJ conversation at this point.

1) What is your location preference? These are the places folks have been talking about so far:

Oregon Coast

Northern California (north of Marin County)

Bay Area

Santa Cruz vicinity

Feel free to suggest other locations.

2) What time frame(s) would work for you? Be as general or specific as you like (e.g. Summer, July, mid-August, October 8-10).

3) How many people might be in your party?

4) Would you prefer camping or sleeping in a bed?

Bay area

June or July

Two of us

Bed or in back of our truck or tent.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Location - the more North the better. Or, then N. Cal.

Before mid-Sept. -  Harvest and/or fire season after that.

2 humans - would pref. a bed, all else being equal, but if bed too spendy I don't mind camping.

Would be cool if a DNB shoe or two (evenings) could be combined with a Zoner jam (days).

1) Anywhere (with 3-week or more notice)

2) Anytime with notice

3) 1-2 (would be cool to have my grown-up son join in)

4) camping!

"The cheaper the better"

NorCal, Bay Area

No preference.

Probably one.  Possibly a family of 5  joining me. Tops 7 total.

Bed

A fifth question might be how much could you afford if we get DNB for a night?   Maybe how much over admission/no paid band?  IOW, if it cost you  150.00 for 2 nights just to be there, how much more would you pay to see DNB?

^^^Wish DNB would answer my email, to start! :)

My answers:

1>
Oregon or NoCal....Anywhere that offers beds for those who need one and plenty of space for camping for 2 nights.

2>
1) 2nd weekend of August (perseid meteor showers.) 2) Fall, hopefully to align with Harvest tour and not align with wildfire season.  3) If at Saratoga, any weekend they have open for us -- right now that's the 2nd weekend of July and maybe also the 2nd weekend of September.

3>
One

4>
I'm fine in a tent.

5>
Happy to contribute extra for DNB... especially if it were in the fall -- as then I think more Zoners would attend...

1) As much as I'd like to get back up to the Oregon coast, that's really a stretch for me for a weekend, so I'm going to say Northern California.

2) July or August, but I might be able to do October.

3) One

4) A bed would be nice, but I could camp in my car too.

Bay Area

Santa Cruz vicinity

Northern California (north of Marin County)

July or August

two

Camping

Bay Area, NorCal, or Oregon

after Aug. 11, when I return from an extended east-coast trip to be w/ family

one

tent camping or bed

+125 for DNB

Oregon, NoCal, Bay Area

Late August - Late September

If in Oregon, 1+????.  Otherwise, 1

Camping

I'm in and will chat with Llollo soon. All good options listed.

can't commit to anything...

1-3 people, maybe.

SC area

camp

jul/aug

NorCal or SC area

1 plus a possible +1

camping please (unless its raining)

Sept/Oct

Good idea to survey for this - Thanks!

1) Oregon Coast is probably a bit too far for me unless the timing just happens to fit some other potentially developing plans to be there then. The other 3 (NoCA, Bay Area, and/or Santa Cruz area) would more likely work out better for me

2) Later Summer/early Fall would be my preferred window

3) 1 or 2, possibly 3

4) I like camping and have plenty of gear to help it make it more comfortable but could do either scenario

5) All the better if it could happen alongside or adjacent a groovy show

FYI

JRAD is at Frost 8/14

WSMFP in Napa 8/27-8/29

If we are talking about private 2 night dnb, location is immaterial and would pay whatever it costs. If that helps. X2 or 3

if not, Oregon coast.

Be aware fire season is already here, and will probably run well into fall. Multiple <100 ac. wildfires in jackson and Josephine counties already this week.

Suggest 8/15 - JRAD has 4 nights off after Frost, they can swing by with DNB in Santa Cruz.   I'll pay 300 for a zoner lineup like that.  One night.   "Rage with the Freaks".

Not too far north from bay area

Santa Cruz mountains sounds intriguing

money could be flexible

Housing could be flexible camping or motel or  RV

Music is paramount

I'm not sure if we're dreaming too big to get the Mighty DNB

Some good Grateful Dead music or psychedelic fusion would be cool

It's not clear that we have the same internal impetus and musicians that could play as a good band all that much

I chatted with mylar and he's not up for it this year as he was a critical component in earlier Zoner  jams

Jay rad weekend is out

uh someone call sinatra.

Please keep this thread for survey answers only... thanks kindly to all!
use the other thread for quips and convos.

Quips???

>>>can't commit to anything<<<

I've always had that problem as well.

(That's a quip AND a survey answer!)

I took the NRA survey yesterday. Gave them Death Brokers a good workin over.

1) Santa Cruz or Bay Area

2) Any time there is not a fire

3) 1

4) Bed

1) Oregon, N. Cal, Bay area

2) "Any time there is not a fire"  ~ so either sooner or later....Oct may be better for that....then again...."aridity is the demise of the west"....forget the author on that one.

3) 2

4) Truck bed or tent is fine

5) Thanks

Bump for more responses.

Hi My friend and neighbor has a Chicken Ranch on Hessel Rd.  west of Cotati. 20 Acres +.  He would be comfortable with about 100 Folks. He has had other Bands play there in the past . Mark Karen &  Robin Sylvester have played there. Volker Striffler as well. I talked to him yesterday he said we can use his property to have a Zoner Jam.  The intention would be from 1pm -8 pm . Hotels near by no  over night camping. maybe a campfire till 11 ish. I will take care of wat he wants for  port o potty Keg o Beer and anything else he wants. This is a BYOB Pot Luck. He would Love to have DNB. + Volker. or Electric Tumbelweed.. All we have to do is figure out what Date works best for David and Everybody else.  All  U Zoners have to do is Pay for the Bands ! Its just a thought. Be Well everybody.

I might even yravel for this.
