Wow, just got turned on to this. Anyone familiar with this guy Terry Riley? Very space like and lots of Dark Star hints...

Terry Riley lives in Nevada City up on the North San Juan Ridge. He puts of some benefits every year with his good friend and neighbor Gary Snyder. He often teams up with Ludi Hendricks another local unknown who helped shaped what our Avant garde music scene  is today.  Alister Fraser https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alasdair_Fraser is also in that mix of friends.   Terry also has a very talented son.

NASA asked Terry to compose the music for many of their unmanned space flights. Like Utah Philips our local treasures are dying or getting old. Help keep Nevada City Weird.

Check out "In C"

There's another, more recent recording that I was into for awhile, but can't remember what it was called.

Hey Bart!

Thanks Guys,, this is great stuff.

Always cool to find new/old music. This guy is out there

"A Rainbow in Curved AIr" is such a lovely thought.

Hi Bart! Love.

How else do we keep out the waters above?

his homepage is pretty far-out:  http://www.terryriley.net/

i own his album 'church of anthrax', but haven't heard it in 25 years.

thanks Trebor!

It's funny, he seems so familiar to me. I have a feeling someone turned me on to his site years ago but I've forgotten.

He looks a little like Ewan McGregor's character Ray , from Fargo Season 3 on that homepage pic.

2001 anyone?

Thom calling out a seemingly anachronistic thread is really funny stuff.

I like Les Yeux Fermes, Persian Surgery Dervishes and Shri Camel better than Rainbow which is a great LP. Church of Anthax is great but different, more rockin

How is "2001 anyone?" calling out?

Seriously, I am so out of the loop.
