Augusta, ME.

I went with a friend "visiting colleges" and bought a sheet of yin-yangs. Augusta was conveniently wedged between UVM and UNH :)

Cop cars were Volvo 240s...can't remember anything else.

One of my favorite shows ever.  There was definitely something special in the air this night.  Would have loved to have been there in person.  My fave Feel Like A Stranger

Fantastic venue for that space in time.

3 car loads, good paper

No lodging plans pre-show, unable to properly function to develop any post-show

Ended up behind in parking lot behind a Holiday Inn or somesuch place. May have been sold out, unclear.

Unseasonably warm night, thankfully. Basically found spot near some treed area, lined up cars and camped. Hotel must've had a bar/restaurant because around closing time some folks pile out into car park to head home and see us. Several young ladies approach and from a distance ask some questions (who are you guys, why are you sitting in grass, where are you from, etc.). Our answer of NY got 2 of them excited enough to scream "you're from NY?", proceed to flash their breasts at us, then jump in their cars and speed off. As you can imagine, there was some deep questioning amongst ourselves about the reality of the situation.

Next morning, I recall waking and heading to hotel to use bathroom and walking by an old station wagon that was fogging up and seeing a head plowing his girlfriend in the backseat.

We all routed our way into the hotel and took our head showers in the sinks, etc. and hit the road to the Hartford shows. Midway through 10 shows caught on that tour!

When pressed, I call this the best Grateful Dead show I attended.  An interesting set-list and an outstanding performance.

Had a total frikkin' blast that involved killer weather, amazing fall foliage, great friends, incredible doses and A+ Music.
