Well, no pictures @ work, but we don't get as many of the newer strains in my area. Over the last month had some nice platinum kush & platinum GSC. Last week an older stain reared it's head, sensi star. Pretty nice strong buzz. Interesting flavor too. Also got some nice medical dispensary grape ape. Really dense buds that break up nicely.
How should I know? But when they're announced next year, I'll try to find some good examples of those strains.
Do you at least understand the basic differences between Sativas and Indicas (and Hybrids)?
Super Silver Haze has been one of my favorite Sativas for years and years. The name never changes. Sometimes it gets crossed with other strains (like the Super Sour Diesel) for interesting variations.
another popular strain is dosidos-created by archive seeds-that consists of ogkb cookies (that's og kush breath, slacker:) x face-off og
i am sure you see that down in socal being majorly played out, most likely not even the real deal, rather just trying to cash in on the popularity. great strain tho.
speaking of hazes, 2017 will be a hazy year-gonna run some topdawg seeds (chem 91 anyone?) called mango nigerian haze: mango nigerian cough x nigerian haze. landrace haze genetics. stoked.
A few of the black market edibles that have been making their way around lately. Pretty tasty & they pack a nice punch. Also have a buddy who makes great butter.
OK. What do you think about the points this article makes?
It makes it pretty clear that what you (and everyone else) thought you knew, was all speculation based on how certain strains affected you personally:
So what is the truth about indicas, sativas, cannabinoids and terpenoids? What is the truth behind how we feel when we smoke OG Kush versus how we feel when we smoke Haze? The truth is that we are in our infancy of understanding the cannabis we ingest.
But I do find it pretty funny that you're trying to school Slacker using an article that says there's no good understanding of the pots.
The myrcene connection is interesting. When I was 18, I got the spins from a bong toke and experienced a next level high that I could only attribute to the hoppy beer I had consumed. Since then I've been trying to preload my head with hoppy Myrcenes to magnify my bong tokes.
It doesn't have the same stronger effect when I smoke first and drink after. It has to be strong hoppy beer first(at least 16 ounces like a Pliny).
I found an article that was controversial and posted it for a reason. I'm trying to spark a discussion, Hallmeister, and acknowledged the quote you pulled from it.
Kind of like why you posted the brick weed photo. I'm truly interested in the science though.
It's funny to think we aren't really that far from brick weed being a standard. Most of us experienced it at some time. We've come a long way in a little time when you compare that seedy, stemmy schwag to Heat's choice nug pics.
i was recently reading up on THCV, tetrahydrocannabivarin. really interesting.
it has been found to reduce panic attacks and even block them. highly effective in managing anxiety and ptsd, as well as tremors associated w/ parkinson's disease.
an energetic, racy high much like what most of us know to be a “sativa” high.
my wife likes this^ kind of high
while I prefer:
Myrcene is also present in hops and has often been credited with producing that warm, sedating feeling we get when we drink really hoppy beer such as IPAs.
Actually embedded in all those Mexi Bricks are Thai strains Really ! I have gotten them before in Arizona some Very tasty and Good ! wish i could Get some !!
so you can post huge colas of your work strains? lol.
ive seen the flowers you post here, straight work-how long you been at it? also, your hash looks like shit. still smoking that BHO i bet. goes well w/ alcoholism.
quality over quantity, sir.
keep growing that blue dream and train wreck...hahahahaha.
The bud in that first post looks pretty sick to me.
I'm pretty much a life-long custie, but in my 33 years of doing this I've learned that a 1/2 gram nug can be way more potent than a 1/2 oz nug. This custie stopped being impressed with size a few decades ago.

I see you cats have no sense of humor.
I have a job and it's not growing weed. I grow for my head.
The hash- one piece is just keef rolled into a ball and the other piece was some of the h2o bubble i ran a 36hr batch on thanksgiving.
Strong work Pryamid. Not bad for a closet growing eastie.
The first 2 are from my buddy. The other 3 are med. dispensary.
sensi star
This one's an OG. Not sure which though. He didn't specify. It doesn't look like the OG Kush that was around earlier this year, but I'm far from an expert, just a fan. Nice heady buzz.
Grape ape. This one is the one I'm enjoying the most. Sweet smell & taste & a really nice buzz.
AK-47
cannatonic - this one is my friend's favorite. Says it's the one that helps what is was prescribed for the most which is chronic back pain.
The LSD strain is sweet.< I like the flavor of the LSD more inside than out but I won't complain about it's outdoor yield. You had some nice monsters yourself from what you sent me pics of Dflo! Very nice compadre!
I kept the keef from all three strains. It's crazy how only the GG4 keef you can roll into a ball of sticky hash..
The PK and LSD is just pure powder, good for rolling buds in i suppose.
We can all do a legal 6 in CA effective now. I'm looking at spots in the yard for next season's outdoor, but may wind-up using moveable containers. Do you think 7 or 10 gallons is big enough? Pretty sure I used 5 gallon pots years ago. Yes, I'd rather be straight in the ground, but it may not be practical this time around.
What's your bud to butter ratio?< I need to make mine high octane to even have the slightest effect for me and my buddy. About a qp to a lb of butter.
All in all when each brownie is cut I'd have no clue how many mg are in each dose. Good thing mine are for personal use and not for sale. Sometimes people ask me if I put you no what in the mix because they get so high.
Whatcha makin with it?> Well I usually double boil a pan over a large pot (flash cook) for 2hrs and have always had complaints from non veteran smoker or edible eaters that say it would knock them on their ass.
This time I went all out. Wasn't making stew in the crock pot yesterday so I put a lb of butter and a qp of mixed buds from 2015' harvest along with fine trim from the three varieties I did this year. Added about 2 cups of water and set the crock pot on 11 hr on low.
Im about to separate the butter from the water after I get out of the shower in a bit. Eugene is under a deep freeze the past two days so just laying around cranking out batches of butter and pressing my hash I ran on Thanksgiving at 36hr intervals
I heard yesterday that the tweakers who stole my plants got caught. They went neighborhood-wide, wherever there were alleys, I guess. They also stole bikes and other things from others at the same time as they stole plants and put them in a visible carport. Caught! Arrested. Fuckers.
That was a few years ago, in sept. We used to move them in and out depending on the weather. Now ten years later, the pots are little and they don't weigh 200lbs each.
Pyramid, nice looking work you got any beans of those girlies you might want to kick down?
I kick back just to be clear,....
OG very nice work lets hope we all get to keep at it,....let me introduce your incoming U S Attorney General Jeffery B. Sessions
He actually said " i thought the KKK was ok until i learned they smoked pot,....good people don't smoke pot. " all i can say is sorry Jeff 'good people don't burn crosses "
Yesterday I was making short ribs with a hybrid Thomas Keller (French) and Mario Batali (Italian, sorry Bucky) style and my wife went to the dispensary and brought back Gelato and Paris OG.
Since I see some discussion of using crock pots amongst the pot porn, I will pose my question about using crock pots (I am researching buying a small one to make my own edibles since I can hardly smoke at all anymore):
Is an actual temperature setting essential? Sounds like it's not. But all the "butter" recipes I read say it's critical to keep it at a steady 170 degrees for 3+ hours so am not sure if using settings of merely "low" & "high" (as all crock pots seem to have) will work. I have a cooking thermometer as well, & figured I'd merely skew the lid & keep adjusting the lid to keep the temp in the 170 range? Or am I just over thinking things? Here's the top contender (none seem to have temp control):
This is an awesome thread. I have read through it multiple times over the weeks and it really puts a smile on my face. Thanks for starting it Pyramid. Your efforts and photos of your "Emperor's Stash" are worthy of an award or two from the "VLZ Canny Cup". Love the French Toast. I can say the same about posts from all but a few stick out from Treeflow, Patrick H, MiKee, Turntabler, Slimjim, Yukon, chuckm, Strawbud. You Guys Fucking Rock!
My contribution is a story. I lived in Amsterdam for about 3 years in the early 90's. I saw some great green bud. Heck we even got really good Thai weed once or twice over that span.. The strains that knocked my sox off and something I thought were very special was the "Haze", "Silver Haze", "Northern Lights" and a 'Highrise" (which they produced both indoor and outdoor).
During the Fall of the Berlin Wall my dad came out to visit me with an objective of crossing from West Germany to the East to see my dads family home which was confiscated by the Nazis. That is another story for another time. During his stay in the Dam my dad would venture out, as he does every day, for his morning walk. He does a strong hour plus which is one of the reason he is still licking at the age of 87. One morning he returned from his walk and told me he had a great time except for his morning breakfast. He said he went to a "coffeeshop" and had what he said was the worst coffee and cake he ever ate. He ranted about it for a while. He mentioned the name of the coffeeshop and I had an internal belly laugh which still cracks me to today. That very same coffee shop is in the news today. Click on the link and am sure you can appreciate my story even more.
Haze Strains usually take the longest time to reach full maturity in the grow cycle from my experience.
Instead of the typical time of 60 days it is more like 70-90 days.
One of the strongest haze had the pleasure to experience is Purple Haze. Man did it smell. Like as soon as you opened a canister the whole room smelled. Funny story was at a Reggae show in boulder around 2009. At that time you could smoke in the venues if you were discrete. Well I open my canister and these 2 college girls turn around and go - What is that? It is so pungent? Can we buy some? I said no though I can give you some. :)
Grape Krush = Blueberry X Haze = taste like Grape Krush the drink. This is a super high producer, grows well outside and under good conditions have colas the size of your forearm. The guys above from CA would probably have these Grape Krush plants as trees (treeflo) and get yields around/over 8-10+ pds/plant under good/great conditions.
With a name like that it must be Wicked. Looking forward to seeing the final product.

sad to read that the oldest coffee shop in Amsterdam is closing down b/c it is too close to a hairdresser academy. that's absurd. >>>>
Yup.......its sad. But for the record even though I lived within a 5 minute walk from the "mellow Yellow" I never frequented the place as it was commercial with a standard menu. I took the tram to one of the best shops in the city. It specializes in Haze. It is to this day one of the best kept hidden secrets of the Dam frequented by 90% locals and those in the know.
Trip advisor review
Since a couple of months, Katsu has quickly become my favorite coffeeshop in Amsterdam.
First came here, because other shops did not sell pure Haze (Sativa) but only cross-breeds (Indica/Haze). I sure wasn't let down with my expectations. They sell all types of good quality greens / hashisch, also Indica & Hybrids.
Crowd consists mostly of locals, but also (clever) tourists, that looked further than the usual tourist-trap coffeeshops in the citycenter.
Katsu is thee place to go, friendly & helping staff, nice coffee / tea / beverages & great atmosphere.
I recommend Hawaiian Haze & Mango Haze, both have excellent taste and give the user an uplifting,
happy floating high.
I am sure you all have seen some great menus but here is one from the Katsu which goes from current to many many years back. Scroll down and have a gander.
OK guess I overthought it lol. I'm such a Custy I didn't know @ first that I wasn't supposed to microwave the "butter". I still got a buzz from it . . .
While checking out the list above they provided a history on the introduction of Haze
Original Haze, a.k.a. Nevil’s Haze.....Known to most simply as Haze, this lady also goes by the name Nevil’s Haze or A5 and was created by the Haze Brothers of Northern California. In the early ’80s, she was brought to Amsterdam by Dave Watson, a.k.a. Sam the Skunkman, where she was backcrossed and stabilized by Nevil, another of the legendary godfathers of breeding. A crossbreeding project of Mexican x Colombian x Thai x Indian (all landrace sativas), the Haze was a seminal import at the onset of the genetics trade that formed in Amsterdam during that time.
Many of the strains you guys have in CA we do not have, so can not help you TF. That is why I like coming on these types of threads to find out new info. Learned a lot from everyones posts, pictures and sharing of knowledge.
When pyramidheat asked for a cannabis folder I though it would be one titled "Cannabis folder" just like the politics topic or other stuff topic. Not just a post in other stuff. The other stuff posts fall off the main page, in its own topic it would last and never go off the main page.
Is this what you were after pyramidheat for this folder?
^no, this is not what i envisioned. i just titled the thread "cannabis folder" b/c there is no actual folder, like politics or personals (lol, fucking personals, really?)
anyway, seems to me, w/o cannabis threads this site would just die. so boring. and there seems to be a new cannabis thread frequently...
an actual cannabis folder would flourish and thrive. could get pretty fucking informative. lotta zoners w/ some wicked cannabis talents.
^^ I figured this thread would be moved to create a folder hence the title. If not perhaps it should. The wealth of knowledge here should not be archived but on going?
thank you for the feedback, everyone! there are some good points and also some concerns when it comes to creating a cannabis folder, on the zone. it's always great to hear good ideas come out of the community, we listen! maybe one of these years we can get a zoner cup going. :D
Ghost Train Haze (GTH) was bred by Rare Dankness of Colorado. A cross between Ghost OG and Nevil’s Wreck, this sativa is a mind-altering flower like no other. Nevil’s Wreck is a sativa from the same Coloradan breeder. Ghost OG is a phenotype of the legendary hybrid OG Kush.
What makes this strain so special? Ghost Train Haze has skyrocketing THC levels. The psychoactive can reach up to 27%, making it one of the most potent strains available on dispensary shelves. The average range tends to be anywhere from 23 to 28%.

My brother gave me a pack of those seeds. I'll be starting them sometime in the next couple months.
Good luck with that Quinfolk. I looked into it today and I don't like that doctor wants to milk me for months on end.
My 420 menu consist of a dark chocolate edible for desert, toped off by with some very nice small amount of Candy Land Sativa (I've been saving for Dave Alvin tomorrow night), East Coast Sour Diesel (that is popular with many around here, but not with me) & an Indicia OG Kush pre-rolled joint later in the evening.
What does Greenhouse dep mean? Are there regulations in California or Monterey county about pesticides, etc? Testing for those, molds and other dangerous things?
dep = light depravation. Cannabis will flower after a minimum of 12 hours of 'darkness'. Greenhouses are covered to mimic/force the natural progression of daytime hours and to trigger the plant into flowering. West coast gets another season of outdoor growing, while the north east uses the technique to fully finish plants that otherwise would not be mature due to the cold/damp weather.
Hi Judit. Greenhouse dep.= Grown in a greenhouse, then deprived ("depped") of light with the use of a shade curtain or similar means. By creating less daylight hours ( < 12 hrs light), plants can be induced to bud. Sort of like simulating fall. California regs. and more specifically Monterey County regs, will require testing for various contaminants like moulds, ecoli, pesticides, and fungicides. This testing and many other regulations are set to be implemented Jan. 2018. Hope you're well.
>>>>>Cannabis will flower after a minimum of 12 hours of 'darkness'
Is it that mechanical? I just started growing last year after it became legal in Oregon for each household to grow four plants. All my plants were outdoor and began to flower in August but the 12 hours of darkness did not kick in until the Fall Equinox (September 21). Of course, the buds went into overdrive at that point and was able to harvest in mid-late October before we got to far into the rainy season.
Thanks for the definitions. I remember someone suggested that I use a tent to deprive plants of light. I just wasn't familiar with the contraction "dep".
I'm glad there will be testing. The testing situation here in Oregon got crazy because when the recreational testing began there weren't enough certified labs and the volume of material to be tested was overwhelming. While the state tried to fast track certification it just couldn't be done fast enough so it was decided that testing would be less rigorous or for less compounds. Or, at least that's the way I remember it; another more knowledgeable person could correct or clarify, please.
Depending on where their ancestors wee from, different varieties have a stronger or weaker response to a shortening photoperiod. Some tropical strains have very little response to day length, relying instead on size and water availability.
So, no, the 12 hours is not a hard and fast number. Many of our buds often start developing in Aug. as well.
anyone mix in ruderalis in new strains to impact photoperiod or cause autoflower? been awhile since i paid attention. the genetics have become too much for me to keep up! Not that I mind of course...
>Some tropical strains have very little response to day length, relying instead on size and water availability.
>anyone mix in ruderalis in new strains to impact photoperiod or cause autoflower
'Tropical strains' = sativas that are responsive to daylight hours but due to the length of flowering time are not viable. Water availability and other stresses will speed up the ripening(we're gonna die make seed asap!!) mechanism.
The original auto flowering strain was, I think, NL#5 crossed w/a ruderalis. Honestly haven't kept up on the auto flowers but from what I remember they are seed only -- clones will not root. Basically a genetic mess that I wouldn't want any part of.
Finally got home from the physical therapy facility today & within an hour my buddy came by with some sweet raspberry kush & 3 med. dispensary strains. The place is a little weird. All 3 are kush strains but only listed as #4, 8& 10. Doesn't really matter though since the thc levels range from 22-26% & that's sure good enough for me. They all smell sweet too. So good to be home
I was lucky enough to have a friend drop off some "special" peanut butter/chocolate chip cookies while I was in there & they were just what the dr ordered
HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaii said Tuesday that it aims to be the first state to have marijuana sales handled without cash, saying it wanted to avoid robberies and other crimes targeting dispensaries.
All of Hawaii’s eight licensed dispensaries have agreed to go cashless by Oct. 1, the governor’s office said. The dispensaries will ask patients to use a debit payment app to buy their pot instead of cash. The app is already an option for marijuana transactions in six states, including California and Colorado.
Iris Ikeda, the state’s financial institutions commissioner, told reporters at a news conference that state officials haven’t discussed whether people wanting to pay in cash will be turned away from dispensaries.
“Oct. 1 is our target date to try to go cashless as much as we can,” Ikeda said.
Helen Cho, director of the Honolulu-based Aloha Green dispensary, said dispensaries won’t be required to go cashless and the company won’t turn away patients who want to pay in cash. The dispensary will be encouraging people to use the cashless system, she said.
Many marijuana businesses use cash because banks fear pot money could expose them to legal trouble from the U.S. government, which regulates banking and still bans marijuana.
The debit app called CanPay uses a Colorado-based credit union to facilitate transactions. The Hawaii dispensaries will set up accounts with the credit union, called Safe Harbor Private Banking.
Under the cashless system, customers use their checking accounts to pay CanPay, which sends the payment to Safe Harbor.
Hawaii was still working on allowing prepaid, stored-value cards to be used an alternative for people who don’t have checking accounts, Ikeda said.
Becky Dansky, legislative counsel at Marijuana Policy Project, a Washington-based organization that aims to change federal law to allow states to determine their own marijuana policies, said it’s good to find alternatives to dealing with large amounts of cash.
But she said it’s a concern that Hawaii’s program will rely on one specific system, given the risks of a hacker attack or a company going out of business.
Hawaii was among the first states to legalize medical marijuana in 2000. But the state didn’t grant licenses to any dispensaries until last year. Maui Grown Therapies became the first to open last month after the state Department of Health gave it approval to begin sales.
During the Obama administration, the Justice Department issued guidelines to help banks avoid federal prosecution when dealing with pot businesses in states where the drug is legal.
But most banks don’t see those rules as a shield against charges that could include aiding drug trafficking. They say the rules are difficult to follow, placing the burden on banks to determine if a pot business is operating within the law.
There is also uncertainty over how the Trump administration will react. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has said he wants to crack down on the legal marijuana industry.
Credit card companies like Visa and Mastercard say they won’t allow their cards to be used to buy cannabis or marijuana-related products.
Patients who don’t own smartphones will have to create CanPay accounts with an email address and personal identification number. Patients will be able buy pot by logging on to their accounts with computer tablets at the dispensaries.
Hey surf you need to remove some of those sun leaves .Snap them off at the stalk .Do not cut them with scissors it causes problems . There is no need for the yellow ones at all and they could cause molds .Removing the sun leaves sends the growth to the flowers this time of year .Just don't be ocd like a couple of my employees lol
We like to disturb them as little as possible. If you have to pop/cut them off there's always the chance for a fungal infection. We wait until they're yellow brown, when they come off without any resistance.
The ash covered, forest fire smoke infused patio plants are about two weeks from harvest, but I have no practical way to keep them out of the rain.
I guess I will do what I did last year and hedge my bets by harvesting a few stalks every day as we get into the rainy season. Worked last year (knock on wood).
And I am with Surf about cutting the yellow leaves. I let them be until they turn brown and can be pulled off with little resistance and no cutting.
In the 70's the Acapulco Gold & Panama Red top-shelf were offered in generations. Seeds fall from where they were grown & fall again in a natural growing cycle, year after year and genetically adapt as an indigenous plant, not like a foreign weed. The Red would expand in your lungs and your cough would explode. That was it for the day. You were done.
Still nothing around today as good as the Columbian Gold, Panama, Jamaican, Guerrero, or Michoacan from ca. 1975. Smokin' that shit was like taking mescalin.
Hey Zoners, I have a little OG plant that should finish up in a couple weeks. What's the best way to dry and cure these little nugs? Can I just lay the clipped buds on paper towels in a closet..... or should I get more specific like putting a little fan on them or cranking the heat and sticking them on a vent or something. Please excuse my ignorance in advance, usually I just buy it all ready to go.
>> And I am with Surf about cutting the yellow leaves. I let them be until they turn brown and can be pulled off with little resistance and no cutting.
That can lead to bud rot. I pick all the yellow leaves off as I see them. And with two weeks left until harvest I started thinning out all of the green fan leaves.
Tie them on string and put them on a coat hanger. Make sure they are no in direct sunlight and there is good airflow. An oscillating fan works best.
Wngfan, I believe Boone is referring to hanging the branches before clipping the buds off when he says this. Hang the branches from the bottom of the hanger leaving air space between.
We bring one or several ripe "arms" in at a time, remove the remaining fan leaves, cut into approx. foot-long segments, and hang on the hangers. We keep the temp. around 70 and make sure there is plenty of airflow.
When the little leaves on the buds are dry they're easy to remove. We then cut the buds off the little sticks and put them in large paper bags - on a grate to improve air flow - to finish drying.
When the buds are dry (barely not bendy) they go to large canning jars for curing and storage. You gotta vent them as they cure, maybe twice a day at first, then once a day, then maybe every other day. The green smell will go away, and in a week or two they'll be done.
Actually they continue to cure slowly and attain their true flavor for several months, but they prob. won't need any venting during this time other than what they get when you take some out for use.
Timmy, you have ice bags? for making hash? i know you like to cook, look into them if you don't.
my gf and i after washing all the trim/popcorn and making ice hash for us to smoke, the non melty grades we turn into coconut oil thc, great for baking or just eating by itself (we put them in gel caps for easy consumption).
It's like the early days of video games compared to video games now.
8 bit weed.
Yes, I know all about landraces and the importance of these genetics in the grand scheme and their role leading up to what we have today, but those are some hilarious photos.
Not sure i would have become a pot smoker if thats what the gateway was.....brown whiffs of pubic hair.
Guy, you're about the same age as me. When I started smoking, in the early 80s, there was plenty of gnarly shit around, and all grades of brick. Did you not have to deal with that?
I was expecting some schwaggy looking homegrown like I've seen in the past when I started this grow but came away with some primo organic outdoor. This is the XXX, and I'm chopping my GG#4 this weekend. They're curing and smelling better every day
>>>>Those buds just need manicured a bit. Might be a good looking nug under all those leaves.
Here is the pic for those who don't click the link:
Question for the home growers around here. I am just starting to cut, dry, and jar the first branches off my plants. I certainly don't leave leafs on the buds as shown in this picture, but I don't carefully manicure them either as if they were going to be on display at the Cannabis Cup. Instead, I just remove all remaining fan leaves and give them a once over with the scissors. Its all for personal use and sharing, so don't need to get them perfect looking. Aside from aesthetics, is there any practical reason to carefully manicure the buds and remove every little bit of the little leaf material?
naw. i mean the green rush will be koooooky-crazy in the next few years. I just want a garden...
installed a plugin for my coworker today so he can keep an eye on his 6 big girls....says they have 50+ days left....
and I AM nostalgic for at least the Afghanni banna buds my buddies dad pulled out of his backyard shed in the 80's. was legit. 1st time i ever saw and had "real" bud.
In 1983 I paid $40 for a 1/4, which was outrageous. It was Colorado Purple bud painted with hash oil. It was a far cry from the $20-25 1/4 shit we were getting.
It seemed that it all broke loose in 1987, when people started hearing about and wanting "the kind."
hoovers, you should do some accapuco gold next year. the seeds are available.
was supposed to get "some"...dunno whatever happened to that.
and ps. hoover, if it was my home stash i'd leave a lil more on it. and not break up the buds into really smaller pieces. a little cushion/leaf i think keeps the sugar protected.
I understand they are paid by the pound. $100 per pound (plus room and board) on some of the larger farms in Southern Oregon. I also understand its tedious, back breaking work.
Smiley....those 40 buds from 77 really take me back. The thai weed had a reputation 2nd to none and when it came around every day was Christmas. But many of those other buds, that we called "commercial" often quite seedy, were also mighty fine with great taste and a good sativa buzz. I miss Those flavors and would love to get a variety of 10 of the 40. As far as i know those products pretty much went the way of the dinasaur.
>>hoovers, you should do some accapuco gold next year. the seeds are available.
I grew one. The yield wasn't as strong as I had hoped, probably a bit less than a pound of bud. It's drying now, will post review and pics after final trim, cure and 1st smoke.
A buddy of mine gave me a OG start back in early august. I left it in a pot outside and harvested about an ounce today. It probably should have gone a little longer but I saw some bud rot and don't see enough direct sun to keep it going. Still... nice and sticky! Good times!
^yes, Plf, if folks haven't tried mixing cbd with your thc, especially in edibles, you don't know what you're missing, even if you are mostly pain free.
Incredibly smooth, happy, long lasting beautiful buzz. cbd compliments thc like frosting compliments cake.
pyramid, was wondering of all the nice strains you've been able to try, which one would you consider to be an island pick, in so far as the quality of the high?

Wow.....Boone......Am looking forward to seeing that and hearing your review.
joe-i love everything bay exclusives does, their tiramisu is phenomenal. archive seeds' rude boi og is a stellar high. another favorite is thug pug genetics out of michigan, his meatbreath and peanut butter breath are great crosses, superb highs....just to name a few, hard to pick, as you know, so many elite strains to grow.
Yes Surf- Recently I have helped folks developing products from just terpines that are non psychoactive. These isolated "terps" can affect your mood. Similar to what essential oils do. Some are sprays, others use diffusers. I think there is alot more to terpines than just the good smell. Breath deep bro!
exotic genetix cherry cream pie (cherry pie x cookies and cream).
a strong cookies mixed with tart cherry undertone, that finishes with a vanilla laced og/fuel note.
>>>I just picked up a strain at Belmont Collective in Portland testing at 33.2%THC.
not to burst anyone's bubble, but it is common practice that when flower is slated for testing, that specific bud is cherry-picked from the dry plant and meticulously hand trimmed.
The reason being that when the results come back and those numbers are advertised, the price for each gram of that strain just went way up.
If you ever take a hit from a bud that's 33%, you'll know it immediately. Most likely, the bud you're leaving with is, at best, 16 - 20% avg. Not bad at all, but much more common.
there are plenty of crooked mfr's who dust a bud with kief just before it goes out for testing. And it's probably more frequent than you think. Money, money, money...
pyramid, thanks for the info on breeders and lineage!
we are running lots of archive stuff this year- samoa, stinkbomb, poochie love, junior mint, the vision, pie face, rude boi og and maybe some others. they do really great work.

What's your bud to butter ratio?
Whatcha makin with it?
We've been running an oz. to a lb. of butter in a "Magical Butter" machine.
Using a bon appetite brownie recipe ( http://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/cocoa-brownies ) were making tasty, 40 mg ,1-1/2 inch squares.

What's your bud to butter

Since I see some discussion
Here's the top contender (none seem to have temp control):
http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-2194359/toastmaster-15-qt-slow-cooker.jsp
(it's cheaper on ebay - $15 to $20 - but there's a Kohl's nearby so figured I'd go there to actually look @ it).
I've also seen a $150 "butter infuser" geared towards the, um, "market", but that seems like Custy overkill.
Any advice would be appreciated. Tnx

This is an awesome thread. I
This is an awesome thread.

Have you come across any Haze strains?
========================================================

25 GREATEST STRAINS OF ALL TIME (October 09, 2014) http://hightimes.com/grow/25-greatest-strains-of-all-time/
While checking out the list above they provided a history on the introduction of Haze

=======================================================================================
Second would be nice not to just to have pics/small talk but also have like a cultivator corner...where we could share info.
Think that would be more valuable then a generic "canabis folder " in the Other stuff folder?

Bump!
Very interesting reading.

Hi there.
Hi there.
What does Greenhouse dep mean? Are there regulations in California or Monterey county about pesticides, etc? Testing for those, molds and other dangerous things?

dep = light depravation.
dep = light depravation.

Hi Judit. Greenhouse dep.=

Many of our buds often start developing in Aug. as well.

Hawaii says it’s 1st state to
Hawaii says it’s 1st state to go cashless for pot sales
By The Associated PressSeptember 13, 2017 1:08 am
http://wtop.com/business-finance/2017/09/hawaii-says-its-1st-state-to-go...

In 1983 I paid $40 for a 1/4, which was outrageous. It was Colorado Purple bud painted with hash oil. It was a far cry from the $20-25 1/4 shit we were getting.
It seemed that it all broke loose in 1987, when people started hearing about and wanting "the kind."

hoovers, you should do some accapuco gold next year. the seeds are available.
was supposed to get "some"...dunno whatever happened to that.
and ps. hoover, if it was my home stash i'd leave a lil more on it. and not break up the buds into really smaller pieces. a little cushion/leaf i think keeps the sugar protected.
there's no reason to make it top shelf pretty.

The White Fire around is
The White Fire around is completely Indica dominant and is very strong, not as falsely reported/graded.
It's a Night Time strain, that only takes 1 strong hit to make you search for your bed.
Not safe for work or operating heavy machinery.
Nice photo P-Heat !

3 Queens anyone? I have very little data on this one.
I enjoy working on projects when smoking Sherbert all night long.
It doesn't stunt creativity (it may even enhance it), but it does a good job at pain relief allowing me to get some work done.
Which is pretty cool for an Indica leaning strain.
If I fuck up, it allows me to have major patients and not be pissed, sharpen my pencil and regroup.

Was trying to eat a very
Was trying to eat a very large edible Water Melon Candy thoroughly stuck in a wrapper as Arlo Guthrie is 20 feet away smiling trying to get my undivided attention as Sara Guthrie was singing like an Angel.
As soon as he turned away to sing harmony with Sara -
I threw that sucker down my mouth, plastic and all.
First time an edible had no effect on me. Bummer.
I can get all kinds of Chocolates; but am interested in Cookies and Brownies.
