I'm headed up that way in about a week to see an old college friend.
No, I'm not a trimmer. I'm too old for that shit and my arthritis is off the hook.
Looking forward to watching some sunsets while walking the dogs on the beach.
Is that place as crazy as the news makes it seem?

How do you feel about
How do you feel about breathing? Are you into particulates in your air and lungs? I left SF yesterday. Glad to be out of that air.
Unfortunately, those fires won't be out for a while. At least bring an N-95 filter for breathing.

I have asthma. I may want to reconsider this trip until January.
I had not considered this.
No, thanks Knotesau. I don't care for Oregon, too rainy and the people are a tad too strange for my liking. Even for an old deadhead like me.

We are looking at an estimated population of roughly 12 million, give or take, of that the overwhelming majority is (officially) White. Once the non-White population of the major metropolitan areas is subtracted, especially Seattle/Tacoma/Olympia and Portland, as well as a few specific and containable “brown spots” where labor-intensive industry has attracted a heavy Hispanic influx, we are for all practical purposes dealing with an all-White territory, one of the few remaining in the world. Nine million White people is a lot of people, but with hard propaganda work by an active and fanatically dedicated minority, enough of them can be convinced to join us to provide local bases for incoming settlement. Contrast that to trying to work around a population of almost 300 million people, in many places the majority non-White, on a continent this size wherein we are totally and utterly powerless and scattered to the four winds.

Here's a pic I took Tuesday morning, and things have gotten much much worse. We're actually getting smoke in the Salt Lake valley.

no, not at all. there are areas with alot of meth use and thus petty crime, and there can be armed cannabis growers. where are you going in humbolt?
but depending on where you are going, you might not have many run ins with tweakers, they are nore in the bigger towns and keep to themselves out in the hills.
there are armed growers, but the news sometimes makes it out to seem like you will be going for a leisurely afternoon hike, stumble on a grow and get shot. generally those grows are far to well hidden for that. if you are hiking on an established trail or closer to town, you probably wont be stumbling on a geurilla cannabis grow. they are deep, deep in the woods away from areas people frequent like hiking trails, scienic areas, etc.
unless where you live now is right next door to andy of mayberry it likely wont be any crazier than where ever you live now. theres some crime, some crazy folks, etc, just like everywhere.
now if you go up there to trim, tour a few trim camps and hang out with the party people you meet there, yeah, humbolt can be really fucking crazy. but youve got to seek it out, and its the good kind of crazy. for the average visitor it just like any other rural area in norcal. lots of hicks, growers, tweakers, hill people, and hippie types. a trip to humbolt could be as uneventful and boring or as crazy as you want to make it.
