baseball is so tied to its traditions, I'm not sure something this radical will fly. That realignment idea doesn't use the words "American League" and "National League" anywhere, are they really going to fade away?
rationalizing travel for the west coast teams would be a big deal for them, and would save everyone $$ on traveling.

Yeah they carefully avoided
Yeah they carefully avoided talking about NL and AL but that has been going away for years. I prefer NL baseball, but the owners don’t want their multi-million-dollar pitchers taking swings and running bases with all the injury possibilities, and the players union doesn’t want to give up those huge extra year salaries that allows hitters to extend their careers.
In the end the money will win and the DH will be adopted by the whole league.
