home and away uniforms

Forums:

They need a system.

why do they have multiple red or blue teams in leagues?

Which sport?

Do any sports have a simple home and away system? Colors home, whites away or home white and road grey?

I thought they all had a light color for home, deeper color for away games.

white/light home

dark away

duh.

in baseball...on road, it says city name..i.e  boston...and they used to always be grey...home were white, w team nick name as in ReD Sox

hockey, football, basketball, all have a system...

back to baseball...alot of teams used to only put players names on back of road jerseys, as home fans were suppossed to know who they were...alot has changed

Greed they wanna sell more jersey's like throwback uni's

No player names on Baseball home uni's only away uni's

not any more, Nugs...look at Cubs tonite...in chicago

cubs fans are drunk they forget names

Names: "A league may provide that the uniforms of its member teams include the names of its players on their backs. Any name other than the last name of the player must be approved by the League President. If adopted, all uniforms for a team must have the names of its players." Again, with the elimination of separate administrations for the American and National leagues, this rule is more often invoked by the minor leagues. (Ichiro Suzuki, when he played for the Seattle Mariners and currently playing for the Miami Marlins, is the last player to have his given name rather than his family name displayed on the back of his uniform, having applied for this permission in order to continue being identified as he had been in the Japanese leagues. Vida Blue also used his first name on the back of his uniform when he played for the San Francisco Giants in the mid-1980s). As of 2010, the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and San Francisco Giants do not display their players' names on their home uniforms (the Giants did adopt the names in the 1970s, but removed them from the home uniform in 2000); the Yankees also do not display them on their road uniforms. The New York Mets used alternate home uniforms without last names for the 1999 season. The names were returned the next season. The Chicago Cubs did not have names on their home or alternate jerseys for the 2005 and 2006 seasons. The names are now back on both jerseys. The Los Angeles Dodgers did not have names on the back of their home and road jerseys for the 2005 and 2006 seasons. Names returned on both jerseys in 2007. The Minnesota Twins did not feature names on the back of three different "throwback" alternate uniforms, used in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Raiders not in black jersey at home looks weird.

The Raiders wore their white jerseys at home for the first time in their history on September 28, 2008 against the San Diego Chargers. The decision was made by Lane Kiffin, who was coaching his final game for the Raiders, and was purportedly due to intense heat.[73] The high temperature in Oakland that day was 78°.[74]

First Sox fan i met at Fenway was passed out in the third inning.

"as of 2010 ...the sox , yanks , and giants do not display on their home uniforms"....i would assume then, that every other team did?

thats alot of drunks

and , as far as team colors vs whites go..i think hockey has it right...home team decision, if im not mistaken....most wear their colors

Baseball uniforms are supposed to be white at home and grey on the road with team colored letters, numbers, stirrups and hat.

<<<<<First Sox fan i met at Fenway was passed out in the third inning.

.passed out try another term we use in Boston he was Shitfaced in the 3rd inning sure it wasn't the bottom of a 5th.

Hockey is...

Home = dark

Away = white

Also, they switched to Adidas this year.

No 3rd jerseys this season.

nhl has switched the white dark at least three times since 1960...i thought i had heard,it was home team decision, but i was wrong...but, pretty weird that they keep changing...it was home dark 60-70, then home white from 70-2003 i think, then 2003-2015 home white again, then switched in 2016 because of third jersey...now, no third jersey...montreal said fuck it and went back to a vintage style as their permanent uniform...crazy, man

Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Garbage Plate, the Rochester Red Wings became the Rochester Plates.

Jambone- It's a marketing ploy no doubt. "I got my Home white one. Shit, now I need to get my Home black one"

And it gets worse when you consider the variety of hats issued each year. I know this because of my son's collection...I need the all-star hat, no not that one, the home-run derby all-star warm-up cap....

i guess i was referencing bball and football...

oh, i know that...its always about $...
