Frida Kahlo as Barbie?

Where's the 'stasche?

Do little girls even know who frida is?

I don't even know.

Needs comparison pics

It's the Barbie way to stylize women into someone's idea of what women should look like. Frida was strong and beautiful and talented and not like others; how could Mattel keep those qualities and stay true to their history?

Her family probably wouldn't like her Lego look.

Mark, Google her - she was an artist, an outsider, a source of inspiration, a lover, she was a lot of things. Really, Google her.

Lego Frida ~ I like this one!

Yes, the Lego one's pretty good.

Legos don't create body dysmorphia.

Cool. My son prefers Legos over Barbie dolls.

Legos are great, and whoever took them over and began the Movies and other marketing is a genius.

Frida Kahlo seems like a badass lady.  I will look her up.  Thanks.

Interesting Lady. I remember looking her up a few yrs ago, but did not remember her name.

“[The corporation] celebrates the ideological contributions of Frida Kahlo which have transcended the borders of art and which will influence new generations as a world icon through the Frida Kahlo Barbie, which conserves the essence of Barbie and the legacy of Frida Kahlo.”

Makes one wonder if Mattel even bothered to look into her "ideological contributions".  It's not like members of the Communist Party were big fans of corporations.

For those who are not familiar with her, check out the 2002 movie "Frida" starring Salma Hayek. A very good introduction to her life and a well done movie.
