Whatsup Bryen? in a way thats kinda funny to watch- at least the nostril breathing bit. The other day I was feeling serene in the woods and had this sudden flash where I really wanted to have a five minute chat with the Dalai Lama. It was weird.
I was up late last night and thought this might be an appropriate post, I was thinking of posting the BBC documentary of the life of Buddha, when I stumbled upon this breathing tutorial, crossed legs, thumbs to ring fingers, seemingly emphasizing balance and symmetry with the nostril technique, and then focusing on one's chosen religious figure at eye level about 4-5 feet away, in the context of a bright light illuminating the heart. Breathing is very important to gain clarity, hence the phrase "take a deep breath".

Carl: So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas.
Angie: A looper?
Carl: A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver, he hauls off and whacks one- big hitter, the Lama- long, into a ten-thousand foot crevice, right at the base of this glacier. And do you know what the Lama says?
Angie: No.
Carl: "Gunga galunga...gunga- gunga lagunga." So we finish the eighteenth... and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know... for the effort, you know?" And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.
Id love to have a chat with Carl AND the DL, you know, just to talk bout things.
"This is a Hybrid. This is a cross, ah, of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff."
I think this scene reflects the reason most vegetarians are vegetarians, not so much for their own well being [although that's a wonderful side benefit], but so no living creature will experience suffering, which wouldn't be compatible with an enlightened/psychedelic lifestyle

The breathing tutorial
The breathing tutorial reminded me of this song in regards to mindfulness...
George Harrison – Be Here Now
Remember, now, be here now
As its not like it was before.
The past, was, be here now
As its not like it was before - it was
Why try to live a life,
That isn't real,
No how
A mind, that wants to wander,
Round a corner,
Is an un-wise mind
Now, is, be here now
And its not what it was before,
Remember, now, be here now
As its not like it was before - it was
