Khashoggi just like Kavanaugh

if you can't prove it, it never happened.

President Trump said Tuesday that people are rushing to blame Saudi Arabia for the disappearance and likely murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

“Here we go again with you know you’re guilty until proven innocent,” the President said. “I don't like that. We just went through that with Justice Kavanaugh and he was innocent all the way as far as I'm concerned. So we have to find out what happened.”

Very strong in his denials.

Mark Warner will handle this.

ISTANBUL — One of the suspects identified by Turkey in the disappearance of the Saudi dissident Jamal Khashoggi was a frequent companion of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman — seen disembarking from airplanes with him in Paris and Madrid and photographed standing guard during his visits this year to Houston, Boston and the United Nations.

Three others are linked by witnesses and other records to the Saudi crown prince’s security detail.

A fifth is a forensic doctor who holds senior positions in the Saudi Interior Ministry and medical establishment, a figure of such stature that he could be directed only by a high-ranking Saudi authority.

If, as the Turkish authorities say, these men were present at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul where Mr. Khashoggi disappeared on Oct. 2, they might provide a direct link between what happened and Prince Mohammed. That would undercut any suggestion that Mr. Khashoggi died in a rogue operation unsanctioned by the crown prince. Their connection to him could also make it more difficult for the White House and Congress to accept such an explanation.

The New York Times has confirmed independently that at least nine of 15 suspects identified by Turkish authorities worked for the Saudi security services, military or other government ministries. One of them, Maher Abdulaziz Mutreb, was a diplomat assigned to the Saudi Embassy in London in 2007, according to a British diplomatic roster. He traveled extensively with the crown prince, perhaps as a bodyguard.

President Trump floated the possibility on Monday that Mr. Khashoggi was the victim of “rogue killers.”

But such explanations would run up against a host of hard-to-explain obstacles.

The suspects’ positions in the Saudi government and their links to the crown prince could make it more difficult to absolve him of responsibility.

The presence of a forensic doctor who specializes in autopsies suggests the operation may have had a lethal intent from the start.

Turkish officials have said they possess evidence that the 15 Saudi agents flew into Istanbul on Oct. 2, assassinated Mr. Khashoggi, dismembered his body with a bone saw they had brought for the purpose, and flew out the same day. Records show that two private jets chartered by a Saudi company with close ties to the Saudi crown prince and Interior Ministry arrived and left Istanbul on the day of Mr. Khashoggi’s disappearance.

Turkish officials said Mr. Khashoggi was killed within two hours of his arrival at the consulate. That timeline would not have allowed much time for an interrogation to go awry.

Washington Post AKA Jeff Bezos journalist killed BUT we can't disrupt the MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX "big order" to the kingdom!

Trump hates Bezos

MIC owns Washington DC

The Saudi Kingdom 9/11 our country now we allow them to kill our journalists but yeah Liz Warren's 23 & me are the problem.

Well, the Saudis have fessed up.  They say the journalist was killed in a "fight" at the consulate.  Various stooges have been arrested, a senior intelligence official sacked, and presumably heads will roll (both literally and figuratively):

We're not going to do anything about this because we can't sanction the Saudi leaders. They're rich.

>>>>we can't sanction the Saudi leaders. They're rich

At least Trump skipped the pretense and admitted that very point.   One of his few honest moments.

Rich?

Fuck them.

We should sell them back to Turkey for $20 trillion*** ====> no more national debt (well, other than the trillion-dollar annual deficit).

Turkey can pay for it by giving the Saudi oil fields 50% to the Saudi people, 50% to Turkey.

*** I have not yet run a thorough analysis. :)

Dude, who is going to say that? The Democrats?

They're as guilty as the Republicans.

Biden might...he was smart enough to propose splitting up Iraq, as the Ottomans had done.

The moderate white flip voters don't give a shit about journalists. They want to know what they're taxes are doing.

They'll vote for a democrat that sells them trickle up economics. The working class will give every extra dollar you give them back to the middle class. Sell them working class level homes. Sell them living wages that enable them to live with the community they work for.

At the beginning\, we thought journalists were important enough to make protection of journalists the 1st amendment to the Constitution.

I haven't seen any reporting on how the Turkish government procured the audio of Khashoggi's murder.   Are they admitting that they bugged the Saudi consulate?  That's not going to sit well with The Kingdom.

They may have got the audio from his fiancé who had his phone.  His Apple Watch was apparently sending real-time audio to the cloud.

Also, of course the consulate was bugged.  I’m sure most are.

>>>>are they admitting that they bugged the Saudi consulate?  That's not going to sit well with The Kingdom.

Dude, you have never seen that old Bond flick "From Russia With Love" which is set in Istanbul?  Someone a little more tech savvy than me could have a viral internet hit with a mash up of the scene where Bond and his Turkish intelligence agency counterpart are snooping on the Russian embassy with various scenes from the "Saw" franchise.

That must have been brutal for his fiancé to listen to that in real time.  Did she ever call the police?

I believe she’s the one who alerted the Turkish authorities to his disappearance.  I haven’t heard she was listening to the audio as it happened.  Just that she had his phone.

From what I've heard the iPhone story was a ruse. Apparently Turkey doesn't have a cellular network capable of the transmission from watch to phone and she would have been to far away for bluetooth to work.

Turkey probably has listening devices in place. You can bet they have recordings which is why the Saudis changed their story.

The story keeps changing.

First the Saudis claimed to not know what happened to Khashoggi, then they said he died in a fistfight, now it's a chokehold.   Wonder what the Turks have on tape?  The initial report from a Turkish source to Khashoggi's friend was that he was murdered in a "barbaric" way.

They even had an operative wear his clothes out of the building as though he left......its all on tape.
