Forums:

I've finished the new James Lee Burke , great as always. Moved onto The Burglar by Thomas Perry. I've read Perry before but only his Joan Whitehead series (she is a Native American who helps people in danger disappear, great series) he has written many besides those. This one is very good so far hope its the start of a new series

Here is also a new Tim Dorsey on my want list

Just finished Frankenstein after seeing Mary Shelley

Kind of in between gears ...

... just finished Frankenstein after seeing the movie "Mary Shelley"

... listening to "Clouds of Glory - The Life and Legend of Robert E. Lee" (Korda)

... about 12 pages into "The Rise of Silas Lapham" (William Dean Howells)

... and have "On The Road" on hold

"The Wilderness Warrior: Theodore Roosevelt and the Crusade for America"

About halfway through this dense, 800 page tome setting forth everything known to man about TR's passion for America's wild spaces and his efforts to protect them.  Dude was a pretty bad ass mofo:

The Three Pillars of Zen by Philip Kapleau

Things would suck so bad if Roosevelt (or someone else) hadn't been so driven and figured out how to preserve the wonders of nature for future generations.

TR makes several "appearances" in this episode of the TJH:

Fire & Blood George R.R. Martin

Great Expectations....Charles Dickens

I got the Beastie Boys book for Christmas, and have not had any time to get very far into it. From what I can tell, it is a collection of stories from over the years. So far, it is a fun read.

Just read Bad Blood the book about Theranos and then That Thin Wild Mercury Sound about the recording of Blonde on Blonde. SF public library is awesome

Springfield Confidential: Jokes, Secrets and Outright Lies from a Lifetime Writing for The Simpsons

Just finished Red Notice by Bill Browder. Very interesting autobiography by a massive investor in post communist Russia and he uncover massive fraud and corruption in Putin’s government and exposed the crimes, which eventually led to sanctions against a number of corrupt oligarchs. Great read.

The Stray Shopping Carts Of Eastern North America.  A Guide To Field Identification

By Julian Montague

Some very strong work. There is a lot of pictures and information about shopping carts not used the way tey were intended for. You will never look at a "stray" cart the same.

prisoner of azkhaban ~ to discuss with the children my wife used to nanny.

The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho

Cleaning out my bookshelves ...some things just ask to be re-read.

But maybe Gravy could have been the next Disco Stu.

I have dragged the Jorma book around me for 4 months

In my PC Drive & weed bags and pipes for the bags of weed for those pipes, that I put the weeds in, to justify having all the pipes is bags of weed, obviously is that bag I previously mentioned with the weeds to put in there

Like a security blanket.

Tonight I dig in the book, if the above doesn't strike first

Enjoy the Jorma book.  That was a good read.

A Whale for the Killing

I like to re read certain passes over and over again. in books about my heroes

In Jorma's book it happens in the preface as he dedicates the book to Seth & Vanessa.....
