o.k. this escapes me - It was a Roller ( like a lawnmower ) Bubble PoPs ! You Ran it across '70s carpet Round Colors Looked Like Gumballs what was that ?
Got this to celebrate the last day of 1st Grade. Dude's kung fu grip hand was torn off at the knuckles within 30 minutes of opening the box.
That's the thing about those old toys - they got used and abused. We knew this one kid who had every Star Wars figure, vehicle, and play set that came out, but he just had them set up in his room in pristine condition and you couldn't touch them. We thought he was crazy, but now he must be sitting on a gold mine. I had all that shit too, but eventually they got set on fire, blown up with M-80s, thrown in the blender (seriously), shot with BB guns, and otherwise abused to a point that they aren't really worth much today.
Clackers, also known as Knockers and Click Clacks, consisted of two large acrylic balls, which hung on either end of a heavy string. The two balls would swing apart and together, making the loud clacking noise that gave the toy its name. If swung too hard, the acrylic balls would shatter, sending flying shrapnel everywhere.
Had a lot of fun tossing jarts dosed in the dark in my parents backyard. No one was injured. We also blew up all our GI Joe's with fireworks. I cleaned out my old toys and sold them off to an outfit called mantiques, catchy name.
While I get the sentiment of the above listing of Lincoln Logs; wtf is with the plastic logs? The actual wood version lays complete claim to "Classic" Lincoln Logs legacy.
My brother and I both wore holes in the rear wheels doing power skids up and down the driveway. We each went through two of them. Our friend across the street had the Green Machine. Fun Times!
Ha! Vertibird...we thought that was coolest thing ever....
Before we blew it up....
We d build a navy full of world war 2 era battleships, destroyers, pt boats, and aircraft carriers..take the time to paint and decal perfectly....then we d head down to Trout Brook, and load them full of m-80 s, and firecrackers (and maybe lil tear drop btl of gas)..and set differant fuse lengths on all of them...light fuses, and push them out to sea...
Then head back to house to try and find more change in the couch so we could buy more models....
