Stones Postpone Upcoming Tour

Forums:

Unfortunately today the Rolling Stones have had to announce the postponement of their upcoming US / Canada tour dates - we apologise for any inconvenience this causes those who have tickets to shows but wish to reassure fans to hold onto these existing tickets, as they will be valid for the rescheduled dates, which will be announced shortly.

Mick has been advised by doctors that he cannot go on tour at this time, as he needs medical treatment. The doctors have advised Mick that he is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible.

“I’m so sorry to all our fans in America & Canada with tickets, I really hate letting you down like this. I’m devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on the road as soon as I can. Once again, huge apologies to everyone.” - Mick Jagger

Yep, I was just thinking about Jazz Fest.

Mick's health ?

Not Keith's ?

And the sound I hear is many of my friends cancelling hotels, flights, etc. Sucks to be them now.

I already bailed on NOLA a few weeks ago, so that worked out for me, and I guess I'll just have to settle for Neil & POTR and Tedeschi Trucks that week in Seattle. First world problems...

Thoughts and prayers to all you Stones fans in these trying times.

You would appear more genuine with some ((( & ))).

((((((Start Me Up)))))))

What a bummer!

Bought into this for about 30 seconds until I realized today is April 1st...

Heart valve replacement surgery.

There's another story saying he's having a stent placed in his heart.

Sounds like the tour will now be in July. I'm glad I'm going to Phoenix and not Santa Clara, where it can easily be 100+ degrees in July.

It will probably be 120+ there, but it's an indoor air conditioned stadium.

Levi's is the worst stadium I've ever gone to. Fuck that.

I highly doubt that Mick will be in shape by July to run around a stage for 2+ hours in the summer heat.  Another reason not to buy overpriced tix for aging rock star shows.

Mick's surgery was successful, rescheduled tour dates starting in July to be announced soon:

I read that Fleetwood Mac is replacing the Stones at Jazzfest.

That is accurate.

I think the opposite. Mick is in great shape and his rehab will have him in even better shape. It was minimally evasive surgery and chances are he is already up and about. Hell, I suspect by the end of a week he could probably outlast the majority of the people on this message board.

Fleetwood Mac just cancelled :(

Jazz Fest can't seem to catch a break here....

^ seems to be the case

She has “the flu” and so cancels a date a month in the future? Sounds legit...

They canceled 5 shows in all. I view the word "Flu" as sort of all encompassing excuse on the PR front. Who knows what the ailment is....could be anything - including the flu!

Word on the street is they have booked a Meat Loaf tribute band for that slot (MLO)

Seitan Loaf

lol from the Stones to Widespread Panic?

I like them and all, but.........that's a pretty severe downgrade.

Widespread Panic replaces Fleetwood Mac for new 'Locals Thursday' at Jazz Fest

Mick Jagger's brother reveals details about Rolling Stones singer's heart issue

"According to Chris, 71, Mick's heart condition was previously undetected and was only recently caught by doctors. "It just showed up on a scan so it could happen to anybody, you know," Chris told the Mirror Group's Sunday People, adding that it was the same condition that killed The Clash musician Joe Strummer at 50.

"It happened to Joe. He came back from walking the dogs and his wife found him collapsed on the sofa. He had this valve problem," Chris told the British newspaper. "His father died from it. It was hereditary. With Mick it came on a checkup. That is why when you get to a certain age they want to check for this, check for that. You get to 70, you got to be careful, you know."

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAAHAHAA!!!!!!!!!

ok ok I’ve caught my breath

let’s say, god forbid, that Dave Schools finds out tomorrow that he needs quintuple-bypass surgery. who does jazz fest call next?

Spin Doctors?

who is next after WSP backs out?

The good thing about this change is now I can split my time between Mavis Staples and Tom Jones without having to get over to the Acura stage. It was going to have to be a lot of racing around.

well that’s a relief

Don't forget the Depends! ;)
