I know a dude who peddles 1/8 and 1/4's. He is not a smoker just a peddler. I know a few people who go to him seldomly but do. His weed smells fantastic looks and tastes the same. I don't get you high. We have all got fools gold once or twice but he is consistent with it. Whats up???

Unfortunately I have a pretty good guess. Folks "blast" pounds with butane, collect the dabs, and sell the herb to other folks who don't know any better. Take a bud and look at it under a loupe. If the bases of the trichomes are still there and they look kind of broken: it's being keifed. If they are gone completely, or the bases look like melted plastic: it got the solvent treatment. The former is pretty unethical, the latter is just disgusting.

dekiefed weed can retain a strong odor
the blasted remains that I've smelled had virtually no odor left because butane/CO2 also removes the terpenes. If it's been blasted properly, the only thing left should be vegetative material with all of the oil removed.
And the the low thc/high cbd strains will put a different, yet very decent buzz on and it's noticeable, even for a stoner...

That would be pretty difficult to quantify but trichomes have a much higher THC percentage than the plant material.

Not unless you leave material on the tray/table/album cover. Breaking it up does cause more rapid terpene degradation though. IMO you should roll as close to smoking as possible

After looking very deep into these buds there is no trichomes on the outside of these purple buds but if you crack them open there is some on the inside. It seems to me the outer 1/3 is void of the trichomes.
There is a few sayings applying to this thread.

Another possible explanation
Another possible explanation is that its ditch weed ala Kansas or some other midwestern state.
Back in the day (Pre-blasting) we used to see some very good looking bud, that would not get you buzzed if you smoked a 1/4 of it.
Some folks still go up to Northern IN to harvest this crap to use as filler to stretch their wares. Thin KY weed mafia....
