Guilty -- Sept 88 Bob Dylan Lake Compounce
Had tickets, but from where we parked the car it was quicker to hop the fence and you're right there, instead of a 15 min walk around. Security was slick, hiding behind trees. As soon as we scaled the fence they were on us. But once we showed em our tix they laughed their asses off so hard they just let us go.

I tried to do they old Jedi
I tried the old Jedi mind trick and attempted to just walk past the security at a sold out Willie Nelson at the Edgefield. Didn't work.
I later noticed that there was a side of the fenced off venue area with no fencing. It was through a little patch of woods, but after I started getting torn up by thick blackberry bushes, I realized why they didn't need fencing there and turned back.
At Highgate 94, there was a local dude with a van and a ton of schwag weed who told me and some other folks hanging out at a nearby campground that he could sneak us all into the venue. It was well before the gates opened and I had tickets, but decided to join the expedition anyway. We hid in the back of the van and somehow got through and found ourselves parked right next to the stage as the workers were finishing setting up. I don't know what the plan was for after that point, but eventually someone noticed the out of place van, investigated, and sent us all packing.

I remember heading into Red
I remember heading into Red Rocks for Widespread Panic back in '99 or '00. I handed my ticket to the ticket taker fellow, and about 6 feet past that point some young hippy, high as a kite, wearing shorts and a cape and birks is looking in shock and awe at a ripped matchbook (fold over kind) in his hand. He obviously needed to tell somone so he stops me and my crew and says "I handed the guy this matchbook and he said 'That's not a ticket!' and I told him to rip it anyways and he did!"
That guy was stoked. Not quite sneaking in but I've never seen anybody use a matchbook to get in before or since then....

Radio City 1980. Took two tickets from previous nights that were ripped on opposite sides. Sanded them down, glued them together and went to the show. Guy spotted the fake immediately, and said "not tonight pal". Went to the side where the recording truck was and during Loser a side door opened and in I went. Usher asked for my ticket and I showed him the stub from the night before and he said "your seat is upstairs". I went to the lobby and danced.

tried getting into an '88 irvine show twice with a ticket from the cancelled '86 ventura shows.
1st time they gave it back and sent me away, a few minutes later on the 2nd try the lady said, incredulously, 'this isn't even a ticket for this place' and wouldn't give it back.

In '98 I waited outside a Page & Plant show for someone to leave early and grabbed their ticket stub, then went around around to a side door where there was an usher/security and babbled about how I came out the wrong door, and since I had a stub, they let me in.
In the getting caught department, also in '98, I went to a sold out Peter Green show at a club and tried to get in the front with a beer ticket (which the venue sometimes used as door tickets), alas it was the wrong color, so I was turned away. I then went around to the back door with the intention of just sitting and listening to the show from there until someone came out for a smoke, and I just weaseled my way in with them.

I was waiting for my
I was waiting for my Ticketmaster (shame on me) tickets for a Spectrum run in Philly. Man I miss The Rectum! Called 2 days before the show and they said "if you don't have them by tomorrow call us back. So it's tomorrow and I'm at work in the am and I don't have my tickets. Never mind that I didn't check my mailbox yet, so I call them and the say "ok, we will issue you new tickets to pick up at the venue". Great! I ask, "Well what if someone shows up at the venue with my tickets?" Now this was before bar codes, the response was "The tickets we are issuing you supersede the originals, if someone shows up you will have your seats and they will be ejected. So far so good, cause the originals could not be voided for entry.
So I go home and my tickets are in the mailbox. I get on the horn to some pals and say "Hey I got 4 tickets to the show if you wanna go just don't try and claim the seats (at that point in time it really didn't matter where your seats were as it was a free for all anyway).
Did the same for the rest of the Philly shows, can't remember if it was 3 or 4.
I didn't really sneak in but..............

Not quite. But I was literally "caught without a ticket and discovered beneath a truck."
That Rutgers show. You could actually hear things pretty well from the loading dock. Was burning one with a girl who looked a lot like my GF when security made us vacate. They were nice about it.

Only 1 show, at Portland's Paramount Theater, in 1980.
Frank Zappa!
Walked right in the front door behind the back of the ticket taker at the far-right door -- and I think that was key -- it was so crowded that I made it though w/o issue between the ticket taker and the door.
I was amazed.

Once at a Weir and Tuna show
Once at a Weir and Tuna show in PDX we noticed at the last second that all our tix were for the prev. night. My wife took the tix and presented them while. apparently, doing the proverbial Jedi mind trick. They ripped the tix and told us to go on in. I know, didn't get caught so doesn't count, but still a cool story.

Probably one of the weekenders doing the wave, who only go when the team is winning and still don't pay their way.
So predictable.
